Phil Bennett Welsh Rugby Legend Passes Away Aged 73

Post by The Old Man of Storr »

Former Wales and British & Irish Lions Captain , Phil Bennett has died - one of the greatest Welsh fly halves of my lifetime -

I remember back in the day there was this TV programme called Superstars or some such name , Sportsmen would take each other on in various sporting trials - Phil Bennett was paired up with Billy Bonds - Phil Bennett won .

One of the greatest players ever to lace up a pair of boots. The Welsh team of the 70s with him, Gareth Edwards and J.P.R. Williams actually inspired me to take up the sport when I was a kid.
RIP
