is it me or is it a case of who is'nt there this year , does seem a tad Lame so far ,
im open to most genre's but there's a lot of soft mainly white middle of the road rock/folk/quirkey'ness going on
i enjoyed 'SuperGrass' earlier , but struggling this year .
hopefully it will improve as the weekend goes on
interesting, im very more aware of how 'white' this event is ,ever since sir lenny henry's comments of a few days ago.

Just watching Crowded House on the Pyramid Stage from earlier today and they’ve still got it. Class is permanent and Neil Finn has such a distinctive voice, no wonder Fleetwood Mac came knocking for him.
A great back catalogue of tunes perfect for Glastonbury, even squeezing in I Got You from Finn’s first band Split Enz.

Loved crowded house. But don't take your grand kids to work. I liked Sam Fender too.

Not enjoying Billy Eilish one bit. So far

Came here to say the same.

Must watches for me this weekend are;
Primal Scream
JAMC
Sleaford Mods
Khruangbin
Four Tet
Idles
Confidence Man
Diana Ross
Supergrass
Fontaines DC
… amongst numerous others.

Intrigued by Greentea Peng who I’ve seen mentioned by a few.

Just watching Dry Cleaning who I’ve seen live before … they are good but I’ve never seen members of a band interact less on stage.

I've never been to pop festival and I can't imagine I ever will so to anybody who has, can you tell me, what is the attraction to standing up in a farmers field for hour upon endless hour, crowded in like sardines, either in sweltering heat, or in a chill wind , in the pissng rain, with your feet aching like fury ? From the TV pictures, none of it looks very comfortable to me

1) If you enjoy live music, there is lots of it, in fact usually too much choice, but you can spend several days watching live band after live band, just a short walk from each other.

2) A festival is a shared communal event, being part of the crowd is, in itself, part of the fun.

3) For Glastonbury in particular, the area is a giant alternative reality. There is a new kind of weirdness around every corner. If you asked any regular attender what their favourite Glastonbury moment is, only a small amount of answers would be about the music (my personal favourite was the w*anking woman near the main stage around 2003).

My wife is exactly like you. She likes watching it on TV but would never go. I think you are either a festival person or not.

Yes, you usually end up feeling like you've been in a war by the end of the weekend, but for most people the copious intake of alcohol and/or other stuff helps you ignore the pain. Festivals are basically a short escape from the boring reality of normal life.

I thought she put on a good show to be fair, although that might be coloured by seeing how much my two little girls enjoyed it.

At least she's a bit dark/different and not one of your usual orange, trout-lipped, Love Island wannabeenothings.

just scrolling through the whole glastonbury line up ,its vast !
almost as many artists as there is punters , and then there's all
the stewards , security food n drink stalls etc .
not sure i could cope with it all ,probably a right ball ache getting in and out
or even just navigating the whole site .

Gutted not to be there but have enjoyed:

Sleaford Mods (natch)
TLC, how tf does Chilli look exactly the same?
Blossoms and Wet Leg gave it plenty.
Joy Crookes was great but too soon for her on the Pyramid

Little Simz set was extraordinary, saw her in 2019 on the park stage but last nights headline was off the charts.

Looking forward to Self Esteem, SQuid and Macca later. 11 year old comes back from a school trip in an hour so I suspect I'll be told what to watch then.

I haven't seen the Billie Eilish set but nothing sounds dafter than someone in the their 50's lecturing teenagers in the same way their Dad did. It's not aimed at us so if you don't like it, move on.
