INow there's a surprise!
Ipswich get a goal back through Kane Vincent-Young's header at the end of a looped cross. The defender outjumped Cresswell to head past Fabianski.

Very pleasant evening at Portman Road (sorry Portland Road…!)
Thought Downes was a bit nervous but grew into the game, sat next to the dugout and heard Moyes constantly praising Coventry if that’s worth anything.

Why would anyone say that, it's a nothing match other than gaining match fitness.

Interesting that the team at Boreham Wood contained players rumoured to be leaving at various times during the summer. Apart from Ogbonna who is clearly being carefully managed. Only 20 odd mins today

Re: West Ham United v Ipswich Town: match thread
Downes played ok
I thought ..walking yellow card tho
Zouma looked a bit shaky and cressy a bit meh 🫤
Micky can’t hit a barn door
Coventry wasn’t too bad or alese
The chatter all around was about needing another striker fo sho
Long way to go tho …

Had to chuckle Moyes first sub was on 89mins! Doesnt bode well for new 5 sub rule lol
Thought Coventry, Ashby & Chesters all done well, Downes looks like a yellow card a game though but encouraging start, better use of a squad place than Kral
