Did one of the commentators just mention a nice, soft floater ?

Every time anybody takes a put, or fires one out of a bunker anywhere near the green, I find myself shouting at the telly
get in the hole, get in the hole, get in the hole, get in the hole, get in the hole, get in the hole. I just can't help it

Well done Cameron Smith. Nobody can say he doesn't deserve it.

Gutted for Rory, but fair play to Cam Smith. Anyone scoring a 64 on the final day of a major is totally deserved of their victory.
The only round of the week for Rory not in the 60’s but the putts just wouldn’t drop. Yesterday Hovland and McIlroy fed off each other and pushed each other all the way to a pair of 66’s but it didn’t happen today, all a bit subdued whereas today it was the two Camerons feeding off each other.
I see Colin Montgomery said before today’s final round it was Rory’s to lose. Well Colin, remind me just how many majors did you win?
Rory didn’t lose today, he hit every green in regulation and was bogey free, Cameron Smith won it with a sensational final round that you just have to doff your cap and say we’ll played sir.
Rory will be back for more success at the majors as will Cameron Smith.

I agree for the most part but McIlroy and Hovland only two players in top 15 not to break 70

That 70 was equivalent to being two over par

I might be wrong, but it looked to me, Rory's plan was get round the final round playing par golf. In essence, that might not have been the worse tactics in the world, but for that late run of birdies by that Aussie golfer, it almost paid off

He also got beat by Cameron young as well

Of course, Smith and Young both had great rounds (64 and 65) but McIlroy had no answer down the stretch whe it was becoming clearer that finishing in pars might not be enough

Congratulations to Cam Smith, fantastic display on the back 9 yesterday, birdie after birdie and the par save on 17 was magnificent. I thought Rory was unlucky, every green in regulation but the putts just wouldn't drop. Cameron Young's eagle at the last was top drawer too, suspect we'll be seeing more of him.

To the comp, like the golf itself, some good scoring out there!

Mumbles87 was the only player to get the winning score correct. Not enough for victory though.

In reverse order:
3rd - 59pts - Soulman
2nd - 64pts - Chicken Run Supreme
and our winner with 69pts was Crouchend. Well done.

Complete scores:

69 - Crouchend
64 - CRS
59 - Soulman
55 - Mumbles
53 - CRFC
52 - JBB
49 - Neath, Row X
48 - Soulcircus
39 - R99C
32 - DJBubbles
28 - Westhameggyandchips

Thanks for playing all.
