Re: 🚗 🚌 🚅 The Away Game Logistics Thread
Best fire this thread up! And what a trip!!
Faroes -
Planes are few and far between and will be v expensive but only realistic option. Presume someone would run a charter.
Otherwise ferry only goes from Denmark 20/8 arrive 22/8 back 1/9. Means missing Brighton home, Villa away and spending a long week in a tent. About 350 Euros with cabin for 4 nights. Great holiday though.
Ferry from east Iceland 24/8 arrive 4pm day of match. Could miss it if sea is rough. Back to Iceland 28/8 so miss Villa. About 250 Euros with cabin for 2 nights. Got to get to Seydisfjordur though and it’s a long way from Reykjavik and pretty bleak.
Denmark -
Not looked at flights yet but lots of options to fly to, say, Hamburg then get a train from there. Showing 18 hours all in from London by train to Viborg via overnighter in Hamburg.
If only DFDS still ran ferries from Harwich to Esbjerg we’d be laughing.

The Danes are 1/6 to go through so looks pretty likely.
Direct flights go to Aarhus for about £60 return from Stansted, then it's an hour on the train.

Probably got a space in the car for Forest away from Milton Keynes if anyone was desperate.

Best option to DK is Aarhus. If flights are all booked than Billund is next best option.
Both available with Ryanair from Stanstead.

They actually do still do a freight service that you can book if you jump through a few hoops....Doc H Ball wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 2:00 pm

Oh wow. Scratch Billund then.
Loads of options
Nightlife-wise Aarhus would be the best night out though

Re: 🚗 🚌 🚅 ✈ The Away Game Logistics Thread
I've rolled the dice.
Flight STN to Billund, one way £30 with fast track
Hotel, fully canceable in Viborg, £78
So only £30 spent if we get the faroe islands mob

Re: 🚗 🚌 🚅 ✈ The Away Game Logistics Thread
I’ve booked flights from Stansted to Billund, £50 return. Will work out closer to the time whether to stay in Viborg or perhaps somewhere more lively like Aarhus.
Re: 🚗 🚌 🚅 ✈ The Away Game Logistics Thread
Ryanair Aarhus return flight was £55 Thursday > Friday at at 1.30 today, for the one night trip. It's now £150 just for the Friday flight home. Loads must've booked already

There's a great Airbnb you can rent near my parent's place in Aarhus if you fancy.Takeiteasy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 3:33 pm I’ve booked flights from Stansted to Billund, £50 return. Will work out closer to the time whether to stay in Viborg or perhaps somewhere more lively like Aarhus.

Billund bit of a trek on the train. 3+ hours changing in Aarhus. Nice to see some of the country, if you've got time
