I wonder if we'll move for Pochettino or Tuchel if Everton pull the trigger, I expect them to hold interest in both, to replace Fwank

van Bronckhorst sacked by Rangers - seems a crazy decision, but there you go.

another "entitled" load of supporters. they come 1st or 2nd in what is effectively a 2 horse race and when they can't "match the lead horse" they throw a hissy fit and bin their manager. they both get found out when they have to play tough European opposition in the CL.

bit like us really in that they did very well in the EL but they at least got to the final. but they ain't a "big" team. they think they are. but they ain't. because they win the league umpteen times in a Mickey Mouse league they feel entitled to do well in the big boy's league.

remember this is a club the "loaned" their players loads of dosh that they were never expected to pay back. whereas me, I get a loan from a bank, they want me to pay it back. then they got sorted for non payment of taxes I believe it was, and relegated to the bottom league. which they played with players who were really top division players then went on about how good they were to beat those teams and get back to the Scottish premier league.

they're as bigoted as the Celtic mob, who are themselves no angels, but because they wave the Union flag, they expect it to be ignored.

hope they get relegated again.

hate 'em. and the green and white mob across the city too.

They got humiliated in Europe and their league form (relatively) has been poor. Doesn’t surprise me in the least. Quite a demanding job, but when you look at the advantages they have over all but one side in the league then it should be.

Is this a barometer for how big a club is?

Looks like QPR have allowed Rangers to approach Beale. He was the brains behind Gerrard during his stint in the hot seat allegedly.

On another note, there are rumours that we either don’t pay compo or pay a lot less if we go bottom 3. (I say rumours - I read it on another site)

If Rangers and Celtic came down here and were placed in the championship, I reckon both would make PL within a couple of seasons. 2 huge clubs. When you consider that Rangers have made 2 European finals in last 15 years whilst getting next to no Sky money, and Celtic over the years have beaten Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona, Juventus etc with the same financial restrictions, I don’t think it’s beyond reason to think they’d challenge.

Sponsorship deals would go through the roof, big financial institutions would be interested in buying them and they’d then have premiership money to spend. I don’t believe that English clubs would ever allow it as there would be a big challenge from them, certainly more of a challenge than from the likes of Bournemouth etc.

All the above in my humble opinion of course but I’ve been to both Ibrox and Celtic Park and they’re huge clubs.

you make great pints Believer but...they wouldn't get CL every year like they do know.

they would get huge financial investment for sure, loads of Americans "are Irish" so Celtic would be a good bet to get taken over, and it would generate a lot of interest even more so for the Pl.

BUT.

it would then lead to the "big 6" to invest even heavier than now to keep ahead and although they'd be competitive and I would think they'd be a HUGE draw crowd wise and interest-wise in the States of course but they'd be around 7th or 8th in England. no CL for them were they to move.

bit of a moot point considering the PL would block the move - top 6 or 7 might be in favour the others would see themselves move down the pecking list so the "other" 13 or 14 needed would veto it were it ever to come to a vote.

I think though neither F.A.'s would approve it due to them both having a say as their governing bodies.

Oh I agree with most of your points, especially the fact I doubt it’ll ever happen so it’s all speculation. However, not sure about the “big 6” spending more as FFP restrictions would kick in.

Scottish football is in a bad place and it doesn’t look like it’ll change anytime soon so those 2 leaving would be the end unless they left a “B” team up there. (The “B” teams would probably still win everything !!)

I do think though that it’d be interesting if we sacked off the league cup and brought in a British cup. Although the usual culprits would probably win it, there would be some cracking fixtures.

Worst CL campaign in history and miles behind Celtic in the league.

Celtic would definitely be the biggest challenge. They have a lot of supporters with very deep pockets. Given the commercial opportunity of the Premier League they would find many looking for any excuse to invest a tonne.

As you say, they would be too dangerous to let in so it will never happen.
