Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
I don't think it'd ever happen, but I wonder how we would play in a number 10 role as a deep lying forward.
He drops off well in between the lines, with the ball to his feet on the half turn. He did this link up play well with Raspadori and Berradi, similar to how Firmino did with Salah and Mane. On paper it should work with Benrahma and Bowen, but it's just not clicked at all.
So I wonder if playing him withdrawn, Benrahma on the left, Bowen on the right, and Scamacca behind Ings who would spearhead the attack would work. He'd get a little more time and space, see the ball much more with his feet and would help overload the box. Only downside is defensively you are giving up Soucek and potentially overloading Paqueta and Rice against 3 man mids. I'm only mooting this madness because Moyes frustratingly refuses to play Rice, Fornals and Paqueta as our 3 centre mids.

Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
Don't believe the rumours of him falling out and calling tactics. He's a bit daft if he has. Cornet is injured. He's also injured most of the time.
Who are Bowen and Antonio crossing the ball to exactly? If I was the manager would have put that on him and at the same time tell him he's no Italian Stallion. How can one question the approach when his fitness record for us hasn't been the best

Can that be pinned on him?

Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
This is exactly how I think he should be deployed. His strength appears to be in laying the ball of quickly and bringing others into play. He's more Sheringham than Shearer. We'd benefit from others being closer to him and making runs ahead of him.
Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
I don’t pin our injuries on anyone to be honest. But if I've joined a new club, missed a few games due to illness and injury, I would keep my head down to get back in.

I still think he could be a great player. Definitely reminds me of Sheringham now you mention it. In fact the more I think of it.. spot on

Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
Sky are saying Scamacca is out injured for up to a month - hence that made the Ings signing more of a priority.
Anyone know what the injury is?

Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
That did cross my mind.
I could be wrong but I reckon he could be thinking the move to West Ham was a big mistake.

The geezer always looks like he's been up half the night to me. I thought Italians were supposed to be bronzed. Gianluca looks grey.
His sister looks fit and healthy tho. Jesus.
Just read that his idol was Eric Cantona growing up. That makes sense. He does play a bit like him.
