That said 94-4 wasn't *that* close of a game.

Last 8 now.
Getting to the business end of the competition.
I'd be very surprised if England don't get past PNG, although it might yet be the trickiest game yet.
Aus and NZ should win their games comfortably, the only other issue is who makes the final 4 out of Tonga or Samoa.

Right after watching England in a (pretty much) QF this morning in the cricket, time for the Rugby League.. Saying that I cannot see any one troubling the Aussies in this, they look a cut above everyone else.

46-6 Tommy gets 5 tries.. was supposed to be a tough test and a close game.. was over after 20 minutes. I am sure tougher tests are to come.

Last 4 in the mens - two of the 4 QF s were cracking games.
Fiji will probably not play as well and lose. Great stuff between Tonga and Samoa. Had my money on Tonga - not too much thankfully.
Will be at the Emirates on Saturday , England might find a different Samoa turn up. Although if they blitz Samoa in the first half like PNG.........

Either way should be a great game - might be a few tickets left if you're not going to watch us play Leicester.

New Zealand vs Australia in the Women's RLWC this evening. Both good sides but I take Australia to win. 7.30pm KO, should be on the BBC red button or the BBC Sport website.

A very good game, Australia won 10-8. England to play NZ and Australia to play PNG in the semis in a double header here in York.

Glad this tournament is finally underway.....those warm up friendlies seemed to go on and on :D

I say this as a sympathetic fan of the superior code with an above casual interest, this is one sport that doesn't really need a 3 week long 'World Cup', a long weekend at Wembley would do it as I'm sure each one of us on here knew it would be the two ANZAC's , England and one of Fiji, Samoa or Tonga in the semi's and lo & behold it is.

I'm not sure 94 point blow outs do anything for the development of Greek or Scottish rugby league, they really need to look at a multi-tier structure like how Conference status brought on minor countries in cricket to the point that now Afghanistan and Ireland look totally at home at the cricket World Cup.

NZ v Fiji and Tonga v Samoa were what it's all about, bone-crushing battles to the last.

Looking forward to the weekends action, and as its amongst the most beautiful places I've ever seen with the best people imaginable I'm going ALU SAMOA!

Not taken advantage, try disallowed. Coach won’t be pleased with this.

No, but it will put some miles in their legs that we might exploit later.
