I don't even think it was as good as that.

From my seat in the North Bank I didn't actually look when Makinson took the conversion to tie the game at 26-26. I just couldn't. Last 15-20 minutes put me through the wringer more than any other game of any sport I've ever seen. Or at least as much as the 2006 FA Cup final. And that winning drop goal seemed to hang up in the air for ages in slow mo.
Good luck to Samoa on Saturday.

England women's team beaten last night, down to the wheelchair team to try and win a bit of silverware. Will be a cracking game against France on Friday. Must admit the couple of wheelchair games I saw at Stratford were brilliant.

French referee was an absolute disgrace. Doubt he’ll work again.

Aussie's half, Samoa unlucky with a few calls early on and guilty of some awful handling later on. 14-0....long way back.

Switched over to the Union now. Convicts were always going to win this, sadly. Can’t help wondering if England wouldn’t have made a better game of it if they’d brought their A game last week.

Aussie too strong in the end, a faint flicker of hope with a try and an Aussie sin-binned but the Aussie's kept a tight grip on things.

For competitiveness sake it might be an idea to split Australia into NSW and Queensland sides for the next one. Probably end up with a State of Origin final though

So Aus win 2 of the three trophies on offer. No great surprise - they'll probably be frustrated not to have done a clean sweep.

Good atmosphere at Old Trafford on Saturday, bit early for the panto season though with the Aussies booed and everything Samoa did cheered :smiler: . Women's final was sadly very one sided.
Kevin Sinfield appearing at half time having competed his 7 ultra marathons in 7 days to raise money for MND - very emotional stuff.

If RL wants to compete with League then it's going to have to have a proper calendar of internationals, touring sides etc - as it has had in the past.

Real revelation to me ( having seen it in the flesh ) was the wheelchair tournament, and an England win - fantastic stuff!

The women's final was disappointing. Australia and New Zealand played each other in the group stage and that was a good match, which Australia edged 10-8. New Zealand seemed to be off their game in the final and Australia had sussed them out.
