The Relegation Thread
We'll start off with a quiz.
In the Premier League era how many times have all three promoted clubs been immediately relegated?
No looking. Just guess.
Here's a clue, it's less than thirty.
Anyway, hopefully we won't be a part of this thread but we are West Ham.
I reckon Everton, Leeds and Southampton have a much chance of going down as Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham.

Re: The Relegation Thread
I reckon Leeds will go this year - not totally sure why, but I feel it.
Bournemouth to go back down again hopefully - Tinpot club who I have a real dislike for.
Southampton, for the same reasons x10.

Re: The Relegation Thread
Guess: 4 times
Predictions for relegation:
Southampton
Brentford,
Bournemouth,
but Forest and Fulham will otherwise end up in the bottom 5.
I think Leeds will be better this season.
I think Everton will too.

Re: The Relegation Thread
I think Leicester are, say it quietly, too good to go down. Even with what is currently a very poor window and potentially losing more of their big name players I still think they'll have too much.
Especially with teams like Bournemouth, Southampton and Everton around.

Re: The Relegation Thread
Brentford - Eriksen was the spark that reignited them when their form was the worst in the league going into January. Now that he's gone I think they'll be in trouble.
Southampton - It feels like a matter of time. They're riding their luck consistently, they've only really signed a freebie goalkeeper and a player from Rangers, the rest are unproven youth players.
Bournemouth - This could go either way, they've gone the route of retaining their Championship side rather than filling it with new players like Fulham/Forest. It could backfire for the other two like it did for Fulham last time, but I just don't see enough quality in that Bournemouth side.

Re: The Relegation Thread
I'd go for a max of once, maybe none. Usually at least one newly promoted side is relegated, but for the life of me can't remember when all three did.
Everton - might struggle again this year with the fat boy in charge.
Forest - too many new players without enough time together.
Fulham and/or Bournemouth - Just a feeling.

I think we might struggle this year. A couple of injuries to big players and then we are in trouble. (There you go - someone had to say it)

Re: The Relegation Thread
Sadly I don’t see Everton finishing bottom 3, last season was the window of that opportunity.
I can see Brentford, Bournemouth, Leeds and maybe Fulham being stuck at the wrong end of the table for most of the season with a wildcard of Leicester having a rough ride.
As long as we’re nowhere near it I really don’t care who drops, although Everton getting relegated last season would have delighted me.

Re: The Relegation Thread
I initially thought Brentford may go down and have a 2nd season syndrome, like Sheffield Utd. And I think they may finish lower after losing Eriksen. But I reckon they may just about have enough to stay up.
I think it’ll be:
18th Leeds Utd
19th Bournemouth
20th Fulham
Forest and Brentford will be the 2 teams that just about survive.
I actually think Everton will have enough. Even after losing Richarlison they still have Calvert-Lewin. And Fat Frank was wise enough to bring an experienced player in Tarkowski to try and tighten them up defensively. They’ll finish somewhere around 13th-15th. As will Southampton.

Re: The Relegation Thread
I hope forest stay up. I went to uni in Nottingham, it's a great city and it's nice to see them back in the prem.
Fulham - they'll go down and Norwich will come back up and the cycle continues
Bournemouth - my like for Parker is at war with my dislike for these lot. I just don't know if they have the quality but overall I'd be glad to see them go down
Everton - you'd just love to see it

Re: The Relegation Thread
Yep, I’ll claim an assist on that one! I still think Everton will be fine though.
Unfortunately.
