Re: The Relegation Thread
I could see Leeds beating the spuds on Sunday
Why not ............ everyone else seems to beat them these days

Re: The Relegation Thread
Leeds will probably beat the Spuds, but Sod’s Law Everton will win against Bournemouth anyway!
That 5-1 win at Brighton really did screw our chances of seeing the Toffees go down.
Still, I’ll get one of my two wishes though by seeing Leicester go down.

I got dumped by a foxes fan who I was really into.
Will be good to see them go not that I'm bitter or still hurting

Re: The Relegation Thread
I find it staggering that Everton are going into the final day with a realistic, albeit slim, chance of relegation, after that win at Brighton. They looked like a decent side that was full of confidence, with team spirit and the crowd behind them.funky chicken wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 7:12 am

Re: The Relegation Thread
I remember us playing Leicester on the last day of the season a couple of seasons ago, with Noble scoring a great goal.
We'll have one eye on the final, and Leicester will be up for it as it is their last chance. Leicester have no choice but to go for it.
Tight 2-1 win for us.
They will take the lead early on through a dubious pen and sit back.
We'll equalise around the 80th minute (Lanzini)
Leicester with throw everything at us and get picked off on the break (Cornet)
Full time Rice will pick up the stadium microphone and scream "I AINT GOING NOWHERE" and sign a 10 year contract in front of the camera.
Moyes will react with joy in is post match interview at the news just in from italy that the entire Fiorentina first team has been banned for match fixing.
Scamacca will throw away his crutches and belt Lawro in the b*llocks in the background.
5 female streakers will appear out of nowhere.
Fornals will do his "Wehst Kham are Massiv errywher we gooo" song while also revealing his plans to stay.
etc.
It's going to be a good day.

Re: The Relegation Thread
All seems pretty plausible, but Cornet scoring the winner? I'll have a go on whatever you're smoking!

You forgot the bit where Rice throws the pen at the Sky cameraman and announces
"That's what I think of YOUR top six"
Cut to Geoff Shreeves who chokes on his complimentary scotch egg and finishes off Jamie Redknapp live on camera

Re: The Relegation Thread
The 5-1 win at Brighton was an absolute aberration and the 99th minute equaliser at Wolves was hard to take.
It would seem the football gods don’t want the Blue Scouse relegated, that’s a real shame.

Well, I'm sticking my neck on the block. I'm taking Bournemouth to win at Everton tomorrow

Re: The Relegation Thread
Simpler than even that CRS, that Maddison penalty straight down Pickfords throat was the turning point. Assuming it finished 3-2 Sunday would be out of Evertons hands.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 7:56 pm The 5-1 win at Brighton was an absolute aberration and the 99th minute equaliser at Wolves was hard to take.

As someone said on here a while back (apologies can't remember who), they're a turd that just won't flush

Re: The Relegation Thread
It's straightforward for me Burnley, they ducked it in that infamous game v Wimbledon '93/'94 and I've hoped they'd get it eventuallyBurnley Hammer wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 8:02 pm I honestly don't really get why you all hate Everton.
Edit, so it's not hatred I just think they're long overdue

Re: The Relegation Thread
If Chelsea lose and we win we could go above them, only 3 goal difference in it.
