Bit late weighing on the signing but I’m very happy with it, and wouldn’t be surprised to see him establish himself as our first choice left winger later in the season.

Decent signing and seems to be a lot of goodwill from the Burnley fans which suggests he was well liked up at Turf Moor.

Watching behind the scenes today some thoughts
He arrived suited very respectful met by Randolph who admired his attire
Shaking hands even stopped to say halo to cameraman
I assume the other chap his agent seemed a bit overawed by it all / struck the big time
Also Diop showed him around was not wearing West Ham gear
Aguerd was seen sitting down when Rice came in
We talk about Moyes MOT but his persona seemed to exemplify this not a big time Charlie
Even said welcome to my new family
Proven premier league player as well think he will do well and the fans will take to him

Slightly off topic, but do we have an initiation ceremony for the new boys, do they have to sing a song or summat?

I'm pretty sure it's Karaoke like most clubs do.

That and watching Rise of the Krays.

They have to name an Eastenders character from each decade it's been on.

Slightly worried the hype is reaching levels where we'll just be disappointed once he steps on the pitch.

He is a decent player with attributes we lack, but he is Benrahma/Lanzini level for me and will frustrate as often as he doesn't.

Cautiously optimistic, but let's not build him up to knock him down in a game or so...

Let’s face it, he was 3rd choice for the position this summer. He just looked so happy to be there on Sunday and wanted to join and I suppose that’s going a long way in peoples minds as opposed to Lingard.

I think we’re all a bit excited at the fact we get some pace and balance on that side. Something the likes of Fornals/Benrahma/Lanzini and Vlasic don’t offer us.

good signing 9 goals in 26 for burnley so should hit double figures for us !

however lets give him 10 games to settle in before the slagging off starts, same with sca man !

10 games? Let’s begin to judge all these signings (and those at the club already) at the end of the season and how we have done.

He’s not world class but in todays market he’s a bargain at £17.5m, and I think better than the Watford pair Dennis and Sarr. Also likely to give more than Benny and the injury reduced Manu. A goal every 3 or 4 games for defence orientated Burnley is pretty good, and as commented on here he seems the sort of character that fits the squad. Most importantly he’s quick, so we have some pace right across the front line at last.
