West Ham Utd 0-2 Brighton & Hove Albion (21/8/22)

Post by sendô »

Premier League. Sunday 21st August. 14:00 kick off.

I've never started a match thread before.

Strikers all getting a goal. Defenders getting valuable minutes under their belts. Key players getting a rest. Team starting to take shape.

Obviously this is going to end our Brighton hoodoo.

Comfortable 2-0 win.

I absolutely hate Brighton, Potter and Glenn Murray.

Completely irrational, but f*** me West Ham, can we finally beat this lot please?

Personally I think it'll be more like:

------------------- Fabianski -------------------

Coufal ---- Kehrer ---- Zouma ----Cresswell

----------- Soucek --------- Rice ---------------

Bowen -------- Benrahma ------------ Fornals

------------------ Scamacca --------------------

What options to have on the bench with Antonio, Cornet, Lanzini, Ogbonna, Johnson et al though.

Totally agree with this side (other than switching the two CBs around - Zouma @ RCB, Kehrer @ LCB).
As for the subs, Coventry and Ashby for Baptiste and Okoflex

Agree with that line up Sendo but I reckon Antonio will start - either in place of Benrahma or Scamacca.

I don't have a good feeling for this one. We need to play with a lot more intensity than we did yesterday.

This is going to be a special game and day for me personally. I will be taking my four year old son to his first game, and my dad will be going as usual too so it’ll be three generations going together. To be honest it’s been one of my lifelong dreams to have a son and bring him to a West Ham game, so forgive me if I get a bit teary-eyed when we’re all singing Bubbles (he’s already learned the words, sort of) together on the day.

So please West Ham, if ever there was a time to beat Brighton, please make it this Sunday.

Bogey-side who are good at pressing. We'll do well to get a point, given where we are with injuries.

Lose first two games and then have to play bloody Brighton. Given how they always do us over I’d take a point all day long.

I think Soucek needs to be dropped. No sign of him recovering his good form, for whatever reason. I know we don't have lots of options, Lanzini has done well there before there.

What its all about mate, had the same a few years back and it will be every bit as special as you think it will be

West Ham used to do a 1st game certificate for your lad which they email to you, which I thought was a nice touch for the little ones to keep. You just have to email and ask them for it at supporterservices@westhamunited.co.uk

Going for a 2-0 win, time to break the Brighton hoodoo!
