Same here with a chap I work with … he described the way that Spuds are playing as dull.S-H wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 7:19 am I'm fortunate that the Spurs fans I know are decent chaps.
They all conceded that we were the better team, all of them tiring already, of Conte's negative football.
He'll get away with it when they're picking up results, but as soon as they start to dry up, the mood will turn quickly.
I think squad wise we are probably better equipped than they are now.
Kehrer my MOTM last night.

100%, its no accident. marginal gains and all that. Do that 50 times a season and it'll sway things maybe 20% of the time. Equate that into points and for Conte and his Spurs thats acceptable

Of course he’s a muppet, he wouldn’t be at Spurs otherwise.il_martello_di_genovesi wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 10:30 pm Conte has said we ‘play long ball’. Is he a ****ing muppet or what? His team sit deep and love playing a long ball over the top for the front 3 to chase. Also thought they deserved more. Brutal .

With the odd few exceptions what a bunch of bitter cretins.
Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur: match thread
Two other things from my side on Tottenham. Considering Lloris's standing in the game - France captain, World cup winner and, oh yeah, Tottenham don't win trophies - I've never particularly rated the bloke. Yeah, he pulls off some really good saves but most of the time he looks ****-scared with the ball at his feet.
And Bissouma was a very different to the one that has generally dominated us when we've played Brighton. He again looked very nervy on the ball and gave it away needlessly on a number of occasions.

Southampton are the only team we've beaten more often in the PL, according to the commentator last night.
Spurs'll never be as good as Brighton.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur: match thread
I just can't over them thinking they were denied a penalty. Some of the quotes on that forum are just hilarious (granted it's not all of them)StevePottsGoalsReel wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 8:07 am Totally delusional as ever.
Saw a comment from one of them elsewhere saying the game was ruined by Bowen rolling around on the floor all night, and...
My understanding is that, with the exception of offsides and whether or not a foul was committed inside or outside the penalty area, VAR should only be used when a 'clear and obvious' error has been made by the on-field officials.
If it takes 5 minutes of frame-by-frame reviews from a multitude of camera angles to determine whether a ball hits an arm directly or not, then it's not a 'clear an obvious' error and shouldn't be overturned.
I think whats boiling peoples piss is that they feel if it was against us they wouldnt have spent 5 min looking for the angle to prove it wasnt a peno. Its supposed to be clear and obvious mistake. 5 min isnt clear and obvious. Plus the hand was so high and outstretched it wasnt really natural.
It's even more baffling when you consider the butterfly effect, had we got the pen and scored it, then the game beyond that point pans out in a different way anyhow and maybe we don't score the OG later on, it's not as though not having the penalty robbed us of a 2 goal lead...
Admittedly it's not all of them but some a just totally deluded over thereWe honestly should be batting this lot aside and I'm still waiting for us to deliver a "performance" this term.

Those two kids who film themselves watching the game couldn’t be any more stereotypically Spurs fans. It must be a set up surely?

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur: match thread
I’ve said this for years but I genuinely have no idea who they think they are.
The whole “Spursy” thing is a massive ego stroke for them and doesn’t help. It implies they’re underachieving which implies they should be winning things. The truth is they shouldn’t. A club of their size has no right to be winning anything. They’re a nothing football club supported by c*nts.
At least we know what we are.

I don't care what passes we play as long as they're effective. We get no points for style. It's all about winning. If you want a perfect example of effective long-ball play, take a look at this; classic Macari-era stuff. And a brilliant goal. Check it out from 0:34.HammerMan2004 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:57 am Conte said we just play long balls.
