I'm still in favour of having no number 10, and instead having 2 number 8's.

Basically means dropping Soucek for a player who is far more like Paqueta (Fornals or Lanzini). Against the vast majority of teams outside of that top six we could certainly have played that way this season.

Areola
Coufal Zouma Aguerd Cresswell
Rice
Bowen Paqueta Lanzini Benrahma

Still can’t see Dec leaving unless it’s abroad. He’s enjoying his football with Paqueta, he’s following in the footsteps ofSir Bobby. He’s clearly got an old head on young shoulders. So the grass isn’t always greener…
Call it claret tinted glasses again, but Paq and Dec is a once in a lifetime combo. He knows it.

They do play well together, for sure. In fact, they've adapted to playing well together, further to an absolutely stinking collection of defeats and no-scoring games before the WC.

Declan seems to have found his mojo further to the disappointment of elimination in his England duties.

He and Rice may both end up at Arsenal. Edu is an admirer.

It's only a matter of time before Liverpool are sniffing around again too.

They were linked to him whilst he was at Flamengo and at Lyon, and apparently tried to hijack our move last minute.

What's his value now he is acclimated to the PL? £60m? £70m?

Not that I'd advocate selling under any circumstances

Same as Rice.

We don’t need the money and there is no contractual pressure.

West Ham paid an initial fee of £36.5 million ($42.76m) with a potential £14.4m in add-ons for the transfer of the Brazilian who signed a five-year deal with a one-year option.

****ing bargain. Sometimes the Club get it very right. Never doubted Paqueta and could always see the Player there itching to get out.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him replace Kroos at Real.

prefer to just enjoy watching a great player in our colours before worrying/speculating where he's going because he's found form

If other clubs are 'sniffing' then we are doing our jobs right in regards to transfers (for once).

If he continues to improve then it's unavoidable that a bigger club will come knocking. At least we would get more than what we paid, which hasn't been the case with Haller & Anderson.

I pray we get at least another season with Rice & Paqueta in midfield, but if not we see Paqueta for a few more seasons yet. Much depends i guess on who we replace Rice with. Not sure he'd be licking his lips to play along side Scott McTomminey.
