Re: NCAA Football
Saturday 24th September
looking forward to this one.....
#20 Florida @ #11 Tennessee 2:30 PM
usually pretty well competitive inter state rivalry
#22 Texas @ Texas Tech 2:30 PM
Arkansas used to be a power house back in the day
#10 Arkansas @ #23 Texas A&M 6:00 PM
I'm sure they'll be some other local rivalries that I know nothing at all about that will turn out to be really competitive games.

Re: NCAA Football
#5 Clemson @ #21 Wake Forest
this is a pretty good game currently.
just after h-t Clemson 20 - W. F. 21
I have no idea whether the ACC defences are any good.
but these 2 quarterbacks are having a blinding game. a 2 point conversion was ridiculous. the Clemson qb had a defender holding his leg trying to tip him up on his head and he still completed the conversion.
the Wake Forest kid has hit 5 td. it's 35-28 W.F. start of the 4th.
a can't look away for a minute game....
38-38 and going to o.t.
wow....51-45 2 o.t's.
what a game..........

Re: NCAA Football
Saw a few minutes of the Clemson game and a few minutes of the Fla v Tenn game. Both were excellent games. I mostly watched my alma mater Denison University defeat the almighty Wabash College in their own quasi version of the Chiefs v Bills from last year. Watching a little of THE Ohio State University beat up on Wisconsin. Typical OSU really. Make big 10 teams look bad but will eventually take a spanking by the SEC in the playoffs.

Re: NCAA Football
the UT Texas Tech game was fantastic too...overtime as well
got TAMU and Arkansas at Jerry's World on right now.
Arkansas were kicking butt, tried to score a td by jumping over the pile holding the ball out. it gets knocked out of his hands, TAMU nick it run it back, instead of getting tackled the ball carrier hands it off to a team mate who runs about 60 plus yards for a t.d.
Arkansas can't get anything going at all now..
been a brilliant day of football. I know pretty much nothing about college football as stated, just the big boys and the top ranked or historically great programmes, but the atmosphere and wherewithal at these games no matter how big or small the college, it's absolutely brilliant.
the fact that the big colleges regularly bring in 100K and above is remarkable.
UT and TAMU fairly recently upped their capacity to around 110K or more.
that's ridiculous for effectively "amateur" sports.
well, Arkansas move the ball down the field with about 1 and a half minutes left. TAMU had just missed about a 50 yard field which would have given them a lead with only a td to Arkansas to win.
Arkansas kick a field goal must have been about 40 yards or so, to go ahead 24-23 and I have NEVER seen the likes, the ball hits the TOP of the goal post, I mean on the TOP and bounces back into the field of play. missed f.g. I mean I've seen balls hit the post, cross bar etc, but not the top of the post. even the commentary team were gobsmacked.
looks like the Aggies run out of the clock for the win ..
what a bloody day of football.. there's a west coast game, but I might be footballed out..

Re: NCAA Football
Saturday October 1st
should be a close-ish game.
#7Kentucky @ #14 Ole Miss 11:00 AM
this could be affected by the hurricane, there\'s no updates on ESPN website.
the pageantry in this one is really something
Navy @ Air Force 11:00 AM
another that should be a pretty decent game
#9 Oklahoma State @ #16 Baylor 2:30 PM
I'm not sure which other games will be taking place due to the hurricane.
Florida games won't be played I'm pretty sure of that.
and then all of the Carolina's and surrounds will be affected, even if the games are away,
I'm sure that travel will be severely curtailed.
should be a close-ish game.

Re: NCAA Football
I would imagine Florida State game will go on. Tallahassee was well out of the way, and those Floridians do like their football. Bama is at Arkansas as well, though I wouldn't imagine that game will end close. Strangest matchup of the week must be Fresno St at UConn. Just, why?

Re: NCAA Football
Georgia flailing away in Columbia, down 16-3 to Mizzou. But Mizzou not capitalizing on opportunities and settling for FG's. Can easily see UGA getting it together as they're a different class.

Re: NCAA Football
Saturday 8th October
considering how badly TCU mauled Oklahoma last week, this could be a cracker.
#17 TCU @ #19 Kansas 11:00 AM
this used to be a HUGE game back in the day.
Texas @ Oklahoma 11:00 AM
"local" derby another that was a HUGE game back etc.
Auburn @ #2 Georgia 2:30 PM
could be a very good game
#11 Utah @ #18 UCLA 2:30 PM
again, I'm sure there's many more other games that will be very good but these are ones that might likely give us good viewing bases on rivalries and ranked opposition.

Re: NCAA Football
A lot of big games this weekend. Alabama at Tennessee being the biggest. Actually think this one will be close.

Re: NCAA Football
Good game in Knoxville early. Tennessee look good. They’re up 21-7 with 4:00 left. First time I’ve seen Henson Hooker play. He’s got a great arm.

Re: NCAA Football
had a couple of friends come over, one stayed the whole game.
came on at 2.30 pm our time. he left at almost 7 pm
bama fg kicker missed one that would have put them in front and possible won the game.
vols kicker hits a knuckle ball that goes over and wins it..
what a bloody tonking game !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: NCAA Football
Good games all day long today. Buckeyes v PSU starting right now.
You seemed to have gone on sabbatical again ‘Ouston. Hope all’s well. If so, hope you get a long vegetative day of NCAA games in.

What an atmosphere at Beaver Stadium. You can tell we’re into the business end of the season now.

Tennessee at Georgia. 1 at 3. Bulldogs ought to win this just for being the home side. Should be a great one.

Living up to the hype so far. High quality football. Very technically good. Great tackling. Great running. Punting etc. these guys all do the basics textbook perfect
