Re: The Monarchy
Extra bank holiday confirmed for the coronation - Monday 8th May.
Do all civil servants still get the Queens (King's) Birthday off?
Used to be one of the best things about being a civil servant, all the extra holidays at Easter, Xmas and so on every year.

Re: The Monarchy
for two people who left the UK because they pretty much shunned the publicity that came with the Royal Family, they've done a bloody good job of remaining in the public eye...

Re: The Monarchy
Time to revive the 'Harry & Meghan' thread, if I could find it.
Mind you, after the 'Where are you from' thread, perhaps it's better that I don't..

Re: The Monarchy
No let's not revive the thread.
I would love to hear how outraged people are about how hard Harry has it, while queuing up for food banks or wondering whether to get in bed at 5pm because its so cold.
Unconscious bias, absolutely. Casual racism from some of the press, yes indeed.
It's not worth their moaning in the very media they criticise though as it looks a bit pathetic really.
I think most of the world are ready to give them the privacy they desire.

Re: The Monarchy
Oh lord, i wish. But there it is on the news, in the papers etc. Even Clive Myrie looked fed up having to do a segment on it a couple of nights ago.bonzosbeard wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 12:02 am I think most of the world are ready to give them the privacy they desire.

It wouldn't be if they weren't doing this show though. It seems to me they can have all the privacy they choose.

It's how they make their money, otherwise they'd have to go out and get a real jobSammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 8:10 am It wouldn't be if they weren't doing this show though. It seems to me they can have all the privacy they choose.

Re: The Monarchy
The allegations of racism in the Royale Family is absolute b*llocks, because they 100% are not a racist family. Prince William said so

Re: The Monarchy
They don't want privacy. They want fame on their terms. They make Katie Price look prim and proper. Only a matter of time until Meghan starts with the plastic surgery, then the tabloids will really cream themselves.SammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 8:10 am It wouldn't be if they weren't doing this show though. F^ck them. Don't watch their programmes. Throw eggs at them instead.

Re: The Monarchy
They said they moved to LA to .escape the paparazzi. If that was their reasoning, Los Angeles was scarcely the ideal place to do that, was it ?

Re: The Monarchy
These two are near the top of my list of people I despise.
The bonus of despising so many people is that statistically, one or two of the people on my list are going to get something nasty or get run over etc
Keeps me going anyway

Re: The Monarchy
I'm left wondering how we've got to a place where Prince Harry, who called Afghans "ragheads", called an army colleague a "p*ki", and wore a Nazi outfit to a costume party is now a champion for race issues in the UK. The world is a very confused place.
