A distinctive voice in sport, always created a great sense of drama when commentating on a game.

I had the pleasure of working with him on many occasions. He was an absolute gentleman and consummate professional.

I was shocked to hear of his passing. Brilliant commentator with a very distinctive voice. Eddie Butler :newthumb:

Very sad indeed as only 65.
Not only a gifted sportsman but an incredible wordsmith, who’s pieces were always very moving and thought provoking. He will be missed for those the most for me.
RIP Eddie and thanks for your inspirational pieces of writing, accompanied by that wonderful voice.
