Dame Hilary Mantel, author of the best-selling Wolf Hall trilogy, has died aged 70, her publisher has confirmed.
I feel genuinely saddened. I've read the Wolf Hall trilogy and found it absolutely fascinating. Her mixture of historical fact and 'faction' (it might have happened but historical records don't disprove it) is unputdownable, even if each book is the size of a normal trilogy.
RIP, thank you for your work.
