1,700 Liverpool fans can't be wrong [non WHU]

Post by Up the Junction »

More than 1,700 Liverpool supporters who have reported that they suffered physical injuries or psychological trauma because of the chaos at the Champions League final in Paris on 28 May have registered with law firms to make claims for damages against Uefa, writes David Conn.

There's a podcast Football Weekly have done on this topic... I tried to listen to it for about 5 minutes before I got annoyed at having to once again listen to Liverpool supporters not taking any responsibility for their actions

What do you mean?
Eufa have already accepted that thousands of Liverpool fans weren't able to take their seats, despite queueing for over three hours.
What are you trying to see in the photos?

I meant how the Guardian haven't put any photos in the article because it doesn't fit the agenda.

Interesting that you say thousands of Liverpool fans weren't able to take their seats and left outside... not sure where they would have fit in this photo.... https://www.bing.com/images/search?view ... ajaxserp=0

While no doubt policing and general organisation was shambolic the question nobody seems able to answer is how was the Liverpool section full when thousands were outside with genuine tickets ?

Usually the ones without tickets just force their way in at kick off. Hillsborough being the perfect example

that's myth no.1 here.

should add that claiming in 1000s for distress is not something I agree with. Sometimes organisations aren't perfect and if no-one gets hurt and they learnfrom the mistakes that should be the end of it.

Many bought tickets from any source regardless of their validity on the understanding they’d be enough to get in. There’s a fair bit of Scouse migration near me and Liverpool are the most delusional bunch I’ve ever come across.

Sadly yes.
Anyone remember Loftus Road many moons ago? Got there late(ish) with a mate and I had a bad feeling about the numbers there, without knowing what was going on. I found a wall/barrier and stood back against it. Within 5 minutes of getting in, he’d been forced onto the pitch and I was still at the back by the wall.

Don’t believe a word of it, sorry

The away support of Liverpool have been doing exactly that for decades. Way before Hillsborough, and (possibly worse given what happened in Sheffield), for decades after. Law of averages said at some stage people would get hurt
