Finally have two strikers and some folk are wanting to shift one? That can't be right surely?

I also don't know what you've got the hump about.

Because you have the audacity to call my opinion ludicrous when you hadn't even heard the context in why it was said - you had barely any of the story, yet felt qualified to make judgement on it.

Get the full facts before a sweeping statement and you may not be bitten at. Even if you don't agree with me, which is no skin off of my nose if you don't, at least take the time out to actually hear what I said.

I think we should always look at improving. I love Antonio and he adds something but his ability to score goals is severely lacking now. No?

I genuinely can’t understand the criticism he gets. He’s up and down, solid at defending and is actually a lot better on the ball than he gets credit for.

He does a great job. There is more to his game than scoring goals. He also has useful alternative attributes to Scamacca. Personally I would keep the two (Antonio is probably worth buttons anyway) and get a younger player in to learn his trade behind them.

Antonio’s only use should be these early cup games and as a sub in the league. Scamacca is light years ahead of him at basically everything. That’s not a slight to Antonio, more how good Scamacca is.

I agree with both of you ….solid defender, gets up & down the flank ….his distribution is better than Johnson ….and his crosses will supply Scamacca a few goals this season ….& finally I think he works well with Bowen

I thought Downes was excellent in the Rice role. which allowed Dec to excel in the Soucek role when he came on.

Enjoyed that. Good test for our squad. Many needed the minutes, and game competition.
How far have we come since our early games last season? A bench full of youngsters, and some starting. Seemed like a good ground atmosphere. Hope our travelling ambassadors had a good time.

3 from 3. Next?

Leeds have got a good young striker in their U23 scoring for fun :winker:

I see silkeborg beat fcsb 5-0. Lets hope they are as horrendous away on a proper pitch as they are good on their plastic home one.

Well I got this completely wrong. Moyes said he was MoTM.

Hope he gets more game time. I like the kid.

Bowen was good, but the MOTM has to be one of Downes or Dawson who were outstanding. Scamacca was also a different class in pretty much everything he did. In what Universe is Benrahma’s performance the same grade as Downes’?
The only real concern for me was how poor Lanzini and Antonio were, and to a lesser degree how frustrating Benrahma was.

Most of those ratings are way too high. Bowen wouldn’t be my MOM, but I wouldn’t argue against his being selected. But a 9? Stop it.
