ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Started this morning with the qualifying stage
Namibia v Sri Lanka kicked it off followed by Netherlands v UAE.. West Indies and Sri Lanka expected to qualify but with two from each group a 'minnow' will also progress.
EDIT massive win for Namibia first up - shocking run chase from Sri Lanka
MORE - second game is like a league of nations... the whole concept on representing countries is a total mess these days many sports.
Three degrees forecast in Aus tonight, why play it now if it is so early in the year. Crowd sat in hats, gloves and scarves.
England favourites in many eyes, but you'd be stupid to look beyond the Aussies at home.

Re: ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Dutch sneak home on the penultimate ball against UAE in a nervous low scorer.
Those classic Dutch names of Pringle and Edwards guiding them almost home (no boundary after the 8th over from the Dutch, they did it in singles and twos).

Re: ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Just caught up on todays after work. Fantastic from Scotland but WI just couldn't be arsed in the cold could they. Ireland soundly beaten, they were on top at one point early on but let it slip and never recovered. WI will have to beat Zimbabwe now and on today performances I can't see that, how the mighty have fallen.

Re: ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Tuesday games -
Namibia v Netherlands - Game looked done and dusted after 6 overs for Netherlands in reply, went down to the wire in the end with the Dutch getting home in the final over again, two wins from two now and they are most likely through to the big games.
Sri Lanka v UAE - SL massively out powered UAE with the ball, more like it was expecting to be.
Run rate now important in this and will likely decide who advances.

So Sri Lanka and the Netherlands progress with Sri Lanka in England's group. The UAE grab their first ever WC win and allow the Dutch to progress (and make life a little harder for England.)
Tomorrow, all 4 can progress will be interesting.

Irish currently making light work of that WI total, 45 in 4 overs, can the Irish see it through (Holder to bowl yet, will be pivotal) . How they have fallen as a team, they’ve won this competition twice. Got to go to work sadly, will catch up later.

Was gonna say the same. Ireland putting the final seal on the crashing fall of the West Indies.
