Bring in a CB and shift Kehrer to RB.

Replace Fornals with one of Benrahma or Cornet.

There is no way in the world Soucek is not playing so it is pointless leaving him out of the side I would like to see

Assuming Cornet and Paquetta are not fit

Dawson (hopefully) or Oggy
Zouma
Cresswell

Rice
Soicek (ideally Downes but won't happen)

Four attacking players: Scamacca, Benrahama, Bowen plus one other (Antonio if it was up to me).

We really need to go after a team from the first whistle - if only to build some confidence. This one’s as good as any.

Benrahma has to start. Once again him coming on has transformed how we play.

I'm wondering what our opposition scouting comes up with.

watching closely tonight, Liverpool targeted Zouma, little pressure because he can't hurt anyone with the ball in progressive passing, and pressured Johnson because he cannot pass under pressure.

we didn't pressure anyone in particular, but Tiago when he was on was pulling the strings and did we play anyone close to him (or anyone else in red to be honest). no.

I hope we look closely at Bournemouth and figure out who pulls the strings in midfield, which of their defenders cannot pass under pressure and drop off those who cannot pass progressively and just let them have the ball.

oh, and while we're at it please Mr. Moyes, can we press as a team and not just in ones and twos. we are SO easily bypassed for teams to play out of the back, that they're on the halfway line before you know it.

it's like we sit and draw a line and won't even get close to anyone until they're about 30 yards from our goal, and then when we finally do it, we don't do it well enough.

one instance tonight, Henderson was given all day on the ball just outside our box, then plays a 1 - 2 and Rice just let him go and he pinged it just over the bar.

it's completely unacceptable.

and frustrating to watch. or maybe it's just me who liked us when we pressed I think more so when he who cannot be named was here, and then we successfully countered.

now we don't press, and then when we do somehow win the ball back, counter at a snails pace. (most of the time).

I'll be attending my first match of the season, so really looking forward to this.

I think we'll win, but I reckon there will be a scare... Bournemouth may take the lead.

2-1 to us.

This is the one. This is the game where the glimpses of quality we’ve seen come to fruition. Everything will fall in place and finally we give a team a battering, 5-0 :scarfer:

We find ourselves in the position that this is a very important game
With Man u away up next (who looked very good last night), then if we don't get 3 points here we will find ourselves right in the mire

FWIW i think we will win, but it would be good if we could do it with a bit of style as well

We saw the exact same game last night. Henderson and Tiago won’t get an easier half of a game than we gave them last night in the first half.

Our game plan never seems to revolve around the opposition in a progressive way. We never seem to approach games in the way others approach playing us, i.e. in the way that you set out in your post.

Bournemouth have been solid if unspectacular since O’Neill took over. They have very little fear factor, so if we don’t push up onto them and dictate the game then I’ll lose any faith in us ever approaching a premier league game in this way. We absolutely have the players to do it, it’s a conscious choice not to.
