I know we don’t have the players that Brazil have, but, genuinely cos I don’t know, are we using Paqueta in his best position / the one he plays for with Brazil?
I thought he played further back than where were playing him?

You dont have to be old to like watching good football, I was just offering an opinionThe Straw wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:40 pm Surprises me that the fella's reminiscing about the 70's are moaning when you consider what this club has done since. Especially the last 40 years. Is it the old 'prefer to lose playing the right way'? Football the sport has moved on from that. So have the players.
What going to bed? lol
We played well in the first half and for the first 5 of the second, I don't know what happened after thatWCpete wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:40 pm Are we sure we didn't play well in the first half? Maybe I was seeing things but we pinged the ball around fairly effortlessly, got plenty of clean opportunities but just chucked them away. Looked to me like we were playing good football for the first 45. It could have easily been 4-0 at the half. Second half got messier but at no point were we in danger.
When we start losing I'd guess.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:52 pm How many games does it take for 'failing to convert chances' to become a problem that needs taking seriously?
I was there in the 70's but all I can remember are the big wins, the great games and the great players, but I am sure there was a lot of dross along the way.ginghamdress wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:31 pm I'm not talking about results, it was more the performance, but as it was said tonight earlier we all have opinions
That was before I started going. One thing when I see games from those days now, was how bad the pitches were, the Boleyn was awful, but I didn't notice at the time
I didn't call you old. You've made that up.ginghamdress wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:56 pm You dont have to be old to like watching good football, I was just offering an opinion
lol i didnt say you did, nothing worries me about football. I only said that in my opinion we did not have a good second half thats all.The Straw wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 12:11 am I didn't call you old. You've made that up.
You do seem on a bit of a downer though. Already worried about Roma dropping down? I dread to think how you felt between say 1987-1997? Must have been absolutely horrendous for you when compared to this? The football was worse and we were mostly crap. Scott Oakes scored a hat trick against us FFS.
Have a look at the one we played Eintract on at home in 76 it was awful
He has been more creative than any player we've had since Lingard. Just go watch Scamacca's last 4-5 games. Most his goals and chances on the ground come from Paqueta through balls, chips over the defence.
That's fair enough actually. Fair play. My apologies to you.ginghamdress wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 12:18 am lol i didnt say you did, nothing worries me about football. I only said that in my opinion we did not have a good second half thats all.
If I want to say I enjoyed the football in the 70's and 80's I will lol nothing to do with you.
