I've always disliked Man U more than any other club, at least until the Sheikhdown of Newcastle. Surly blighters.

We've been robbed up there more often than a Wild West bank.

Surely Moyes' bad luck can't continue. One day that monkey's going to fall off his back and we'll see a complete metamorphosis of him, He'll fall to the ground on all fours like he did at Anfield and wings will grow out of his back, he'll soar into the night sky and we will play two up front forever.

Or a 0:2 defeat....

After watching Manu tear chelsea apart until Potter switched to a back 4 I think this may be the best team. It won't be pretty, but that midfield 3 will stifle their creators, giving us a chance to get control of the game

Time to break that 69 away game duck against the Club that discarded him straight away. Records, good or bad, are there to be broken.

0-1 Penalty Benrahma

Moyes hinted Bowen could be out with an ankle injury. He was very cryptic about it. But that would be a blow if he’s is, seeing how **** our attack has been as it it.

I would go with the following IF Bowen’s missing…..

—————-—————-Fabianski——————————-

-Kehrer————Dawson——-Zouma————Cresswell-

———-——-Downes——Soucek——Rice————————-

-Benrahma——-——Scamacca——————-Emerson-

Subs: Areola, Johnson/Randolph, Coufal, Ogbonna, Aguerd, Lanzini, Coventry/Paqueta, Fornals, Antonio.

Moyes was also not giving too much away with Dawson and Paqueta. He described them both as “touch and go”. If Dawson is missing then I’d begrudgingly play Kehrer at centre half and play Johnson at rightback. Shame none of Oggy and Aguerd can probably play.

I’d definitely stick with the 3 in midfield. Not only have we looked better defensively but I also think this could work against Man Utd’s midfield. If Paqueta is fit this is actually the sort of game I’d be tempted to play him in a deeper position and drop Soucek to the bench for him. As we'll need to keep hold of the ball well, and we should have enough good headers of the ball in the team anyway with Zouma, Scamacca and possibly Dawson playing.

Move Benrahma to his natural side for Bowen and stick Emerson on the left side.

My heart says Scamacca will make De Gea “do a Barthez“ and we’ll win 1-0. But realistically I expect the usual performance there. We’ll hardly lay a glove on them and they’ll win 1-0 via a poor decision from the ref or we’ll make a sloppy mistake at the back.it’s always the same script under Moyes against the ‘big 6’ in the league on the road. It’s always as I described how I think this game will go, or we play well, choke in front of goal and they hold on for the win.

Man Utd have only let in 2 goals in the last 6 games, once against Everton & another versus Chelsea. Clean sheets in the other four matches.

On the other hand we played eight times in October so far keeping clean sheets in the first two games this month & the last two. We let in 1 each in the 4 games in the middle.

Obviously neither team likes letting in goals

Indeed. We haven't got a bad record against Manchester United; alright 71 losses, but 46 victories.

10 of those have come since 2001 when we turned 'em over twice in a calendar year.

Can only see a point at best based on Moyes’ historical record in these games. As CNR pointed out, this will be his 70th game, surely has to happen at some point?

Our finishing needs to drastically improve if we’re going to get anything from the game. Benrahma deserves to start but he’s also one of the worst offenders in wasting opportunities in the final third.

I’d also throw Aguerd in. f*** it.

I would stick him on around the 75th minute when we are 4-0 up, Ronaldo is ordering an Uber away from the ground and the away faithful are doing a conga around Old Trafford.

The last couple of years Man U have been no better than us. We should go there as equals with a real goal threat.

But most likely we'll just defend and try and nick one.

Far too much respect!

Moyes team talk "Sit deep, keep it extra tight till about the 60th minute, they'll be starting to get tied by then and nick one on the break" by this time, we will be 2 down with Moye's cowardly tactics and Rashford penchant of scoring against West Ham.
Let's have a go at a team for once from the first bell FFS...

Tough game this if we are missing a few key attackers.

We lack pace up top to can't really counter them but playing a high line is exactly what Rashford, Sancho and Anthony want. Them 3 running at our defence could be a massive problem.

We are not clinical enough for a shoot out with them.

I'd take a point now happily.

Doesn't seem a great time to be playing them, but we need to play the game not the name. A point would be great, but we need to treat them as equals just go for it.
