Which fancied team won't make it out of their group?
There will be one, for certain, because there always is. It would not surprise me if it is England. Iran, is very tricky opener and I can see them upsetting us. The US too, is not an easy one either. I think we'll beat Wales. but will that be enough to save Southgate.? If it is not England, who is the one to go home in shame? There will be one

There is pressure (mostly from Ukraine) to exclude Iran.

Last 'exclusion' from a major tournament I can think of were Yugoslavia in Euro 1992, and they were at that time one of the favorites to win it. Have there been others? FIFA has a strong principle that football associations should not be dictated to by governments.
Outside of that, maybe France will underperform? Argentina? Got a feeling England will progress.

England have three cup finals to play in their group. USA has one (Iran), Wales has one (England), Iran has one (USA). Southgate's got a big task on his hands to get us out of that group, and I wouldn't be vaguely surprised if he doesn't.

If England have 3 cup finals, and your classing the USA v Iran as one. How come USA and Iran only have one each? Oh yeah, my maths was poxy.
For the record, I'm not suggesting we're uniquely targeted for various reasons. I'm convinced England tries harder (and plays better) against Argentina, Germany, Italy etc. than they do against the lower ranked sides.

England wouldn’t surprise me
Maybe one of Germany or Spain won’t get through as I think Japan are supposed to be decent although neither of them are that fancied

In terms of difficulty based on world rankings, Englands group is the toughest group so it wouldn’t necessarily be a big shock to the rest of the world. Also based on the title of this thread, are England a fancied team around the world ?

No, I make him right first time.
England have 3x cup finals, because all 3 countries hate us and will want to win at all costs.
The USA only has Iran. Iran only has the USA.
Wales doesn't have any, unless you could count us getting revenge for their OTT celebrations at us losing to Iceland in 2016.
England will just want to beat all three teams and win the group.
