Nice home win, I think.

Probably the same team as last Thursday with Emerson and Antonio in for Scarles and Mubama.

Cavalry on the bench.

Play a full strength team. So disjointed this season and one game left after this.

The resting of players has seemed to have an adverse impact

Feels like the easy midweek wins have distracted from the poor league form. We’d won six in a row at home before today but 3 of those in the conference league were hardly a contest.

Hope Moyes is putting all his energy into the Leicester game rather than this one.

Balls to the league, the old West Ham I saw growing up is back!

We’re after a trophy this season. And this is another to aim for.

I would go with the team I’d personally consider starting against Leicester:

———————-—————-Areola——————————————

-Johnson————Zouma———Aguerd————Cresswell

—————————Downes———Rice————————————

—————-———————Paqueta—————————————-

-Benrahma——————Bowen—————-———Emerson-

Subs: Fabianski, Coufal, Kehrer, Dawson, Soucek, Lanzini, Fornals, Antonio, Scamacca.

We are playing the team 2nd in the Championship. Blackburn might not bother much themselves with promotion the target, but as far as I'm concerned, we should be going as strong as possible. Not only to make sure we win the match, but we clearly need to get this team working.

Didn’t realise it is Burnley Blackburn top two. Spicy.

They’ll rest more than we do. If the league cup is low priory for a PL team it is non-existent for a promotion chasing Championship club.

I know I also put Benrahma in my team, but that was before I saw Moyes’ comments after the game about him having a bit of an injury. So I don’t know if he’ll play in this game.

The train strikes have backed off for this one. Yay. We can't be as bad as yesterday can we?

I would suggest to Moyes that he plays a very strong team for this. Only one more game after it, and then The WC break. If we were to lose against Blackburn after yesterdays wretched performance it will turn very toxic.

blackburn are doing well this season so this is not an easy game. its a step up from the euro farmers so lets not play the kids as we will get done. we need to win this and the game at leicester to steady the ship !

areola
coufal augerd ogbonna emerson
downes coventry lanzini
benrahma scamacca fornals

subs randolph johnson dawson cresswell rice soucek bowen antonio paqueta

1-0 scamacca usual west ham struggle I fear.

I'd go with this but play Bowen or Antonio on the right over Fornals.

As the WC starts after the Leicester game there is no reason that most can't play twice in a week if needed

Really think we have to try something new in this game. Otherwise what is the point?

Not sure if it is wing backs, a diamond, a Christmas tree or any one of the countless other formations people could pull from football manager... but we need to try something new.

If I recall, the start of our good run last year came about when we had to change it up and go to three at the back. Let's give that a go...

Areola
Dawson Zouma Ogbonna
Kehrer ---------- Rice -------- Cresswell
Bowen Paqueta Fornals
Scamacca

We can't just roll out the same tactics week in week out and swap players in hoping to see an improvement.
It is predictable and we have been found out.
