UK Championship Snooker

Post by brothernero »

Anyone watching this. It's the final between Mark Allen and Ding

What a fantastic final it is now turned into after looking like being a total blowout early on.

Ding was leading 6-1, but Allen has now won 5 on the bounce to draw level at the mid session interval. 6-6

This is stunning stuff from Mark Allen. 7 frames on the spin now to turn a 1-6 deficit into an 8-6 Lead.

The inform player at the moment.

Was very pleased for Allen.

He's had a **** few years of it. Public relationship fall out, money issues, drinking too much and being a massive fat b*stard.

Looks to have got his head on properly, lost the weight and if he keeps playing like this, the money should sort itself.

Good for him, felt quite sorry to see him struggling.

Good to see Mark Allen get himself sorted out...he could yet win a world championship

Also, great to see Ding back on the big stage. I would still like him to win the World Championship one day

Masters Quarter Final between Mark Williams and Ronnie O’Sullivan has just finished.
What a match and what a comeback from Mark Williams to win 6-5 after being 3 down.
So want Williams to go on and win this

First win in eight years. That's a monkey off his back.

One of my local pubs have started booking professional players to do Snooker exhibitions the last few months. Mark Williams was there for two nights a few weeks ago and members of the public had the chance to play him if they paid £100.
One guy broke off and Williams then went to the table and proceeded to knock in a 147 :crylol:

So, Mark Williams v Judd Trump today in the Masters Final.
Trump will be the bookies favourite but I’m keeping everything crossed for a Williams win.
Williams is by far and away my favourite current player and who knows how long he can keep it up at the highest level, but he’s in his first Masters Final since 2003, and I’m sure he won’t change a thing about how he plays today.

Mark has been my favourite player for the last 23 years. Never forget how he won that World Championship despite barely ever being in position. I exaggerate, of course, but he was the absolute master at long potting and every frame he seemed to break down only to not juts pot an available red but smash it in. Also one of the quickest about and has a lovely laconic sense of humour. His comeback WC win the other year was another treat. Was watching in a caravan 12 months earlier.

Bit of an anti-climax in the end with Trump winning the last three. Williams looked as if he had it sewn up. Frame 16 - an hour long that Trump won to bring it back to 8-8 - was the big one.

Shame for Mark, because he’s not getting any younger and he’d played so well all week. Once again in the Final his long potting was outrageously accurate, he plays snooker the way I like to watch it.
Trump ground it out in the crucial 16th frame in an hour long safety battle where he always had Mark on the ropes. If that frame had gone to Williams he would have been 9-7 up and would most likely gone on to win. Small margins and all that. Fair play to Trump though, just really wanted Mark Williams to prevail.
