Might be one to look at and consider for the future. Something tells me he'll do well.

I saw him on the sideline and thought to myself "I know him from somewhere".bonzosbeard wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:35 pm Might be one to look at and consider for the future. Something tells me he'll do well.

Canada has shown serious first cup naïveté in this match. It’ll serve them in 4 years.

Do the results today show that Morocco are the dark horses of the tournament?
Neither Croatia (runners up last time) nor Belgium (golden generation etc etc) could score against them.

I'm so annoyed with Southgates attitude v USA but in his mind he fears this sort of thing.

Canada have shown some great stuff and ive loved them in this competition. I think score was unkind to them in a way but Croatia were great too.

Is the Croatia manager - who plays Vlasic wide in a front 3 - the same one who was slagging Moyes of for playing Vlasic in the wrong position - wide in a front 3??

Gutted with the final score line and I think that the game was truly closer than it indicates. Nonetheless, Croatia were class and they were able to cut us open with relative ease. Our lack of midfield depth and pace at the back was exposed with simple movements. As soon as Croatia began to press higher up the pitch we lacked any real answers. Turnovers off of that press - plus the quick breaks which come with them - saw us undone.
On the plus side, I again am happy that we did not sit back and bunker. Besides not having the players to do so, I'd rather go out playing run and gun than go home playing negative football. I think we've made a decent case for ourselves at this tournament and we've shown that we can hang with second tier countries in the international game. The Englands, Brazils, Croatias and Spains of the world remain a bridge too far at the moment.
I think our results highlight both how good Croatia is, but also how poor Belgium are at this tournament. Similarly for Morocco, I don't like our chances against. I think they are primed to advance along with the Croats. I saw their friendly with Chile about a month ago and they scared me then. My mind hasn't changed since that time.
Still, I'm happy with my team. We were never supposed to get here in the first place, and we had a Cinderella story to top our region during qualifying. What a run it has been! Fingers crossed for a strong finish.
