vast majority of games have been ****. Can't wait for a load of 0-0s today.

Also doesn't count as a world cup - basically a glorified pre-season tournament. Massive asterisk next to whoever wins it.

can't wait for it to be over.
Been of jumbled logic there. Regardless of the politics, it is the Fifa WC, all the teams turned up and are competing. Furthermore its 'mid-season' now not pre-season.

No logic, just vibes.

Doesn't feel like a world cup and I won't be counting it as one.

Been surprised by how much I've enjoyed it so yes in answer to the OP. Once you can get over the fact it's slippers not shorts its fine, WFH has helped, this would've been a dreadful world cup (timings wise) without the ability to watch it all whilst working with their only being 1 game outside of standard work hours.

I am and I ain't.

There have been some really good games (especially today) and hopefully that will get better the nearer we reach the third game in the group (as teams know what they need to qualify) and then onto the knock out football.

The kick off times are rubbish but been lucky, so far, that I can sneak to watch the games at work. reminds me of when S Korea/Japan hosted it. They were even earlier kick off times than present. Next world cup in Mexico/United States/Canada not looking forward to. I remember in 94 when games were hosted at midnight and 2 am.

And the time of year, it don't feel right for the world cup. Not being able to drink or eat overcooked BBQ sausages round a mates house / garden instead most of this world cup sat indoors with my slippers on debating as to whether to put the central heating for an hour or two (well this weekend anyway).

I've really enjoyed watching teams outside of Europe in this tournament, they throw caution to the wind and it's fun to watch.

Ghana
Cameroon
Iran
Morocco
Japan

Have been my favourite teams so far.

Absolutely loving it. Apart from a few matches it's nearly impossible to predict which way most of the games are going to go. Some of the upsets have been fantastic, also yesterdays matches swinging all over the gaff makes it pretty exciting. Kick off times over here are 5pm, 8pm, 11pm and 2am, which is my only complaint as our matches are all 2am after the opener. Still, I'll be setting my alarm tonight to watch England then getting an hours sleep before I'm up for work :asleep:

I don’t think it is a classic World Cup, too much hype around some of the games and increasingly so, the players. Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Argentina are the principle culprits (along with England, of course) and largely, they have disappointed. I suppose as this is likely to be the last WC for Messi and Ronaldo, the media circus is wanting to give them one last hurrah.

Iran have probably entertained me the most so far - England beating them, and then the last 10 mins be Wales. Other enjoyable sides include Morocco and France.

I’ve enjoyed it so far and yesterday was great with 11 goals in two matches.
It really shouldn’t be in Qatar but we are there now and it is what it is, so I will just enjoy working from home during a World Cup for the first time, taking in as many games as possible, but with a warming bowl of mulligatawny instead of a BBQ 😁

Isn't it a tad early to tell?

The knock-outs are what makes or breaks the tournament.

Agree with the majority its been pretty cr*p but my god nowhere near as bad as South Africa in 2010.

Brazil 2014 (england aside) is the best world cup in history, and I can't see it being beaten especially with the 48 team expansion from 2026.
