had to run an errand the other day so missed the first half of the Ecuador Netherlands game.

bars everywhere showing the game it was on at 11 a.m. here.

shops with tv's on and small crowds gathered on the pavement. bit like when we used to come home from the 'ammers game and stopped by the tv rental shops to see the full time results !!!!

got a couple of lads coming over to watch the game, 10 a.m. here. one has seen TWO "soccer" games in his life, the other I think one. then the National team games on the tv. you'd think they were lifelong Ecuador fans and about as knowledgeable as Alan Smith on commentary. luckily they don't ask me to explain offside TOO often.



I think they'll have a bit too much for Senegal but this Cup has thrown up a few "different" results. depends on the fitness of Valencia and believe me that Caceido in MF I think is the real deal.

I fancy Ecuador for this. They've got a talented young side. Senegal are a decent team, but they miss Mane badly, and I think that will be the difference.

Plus the draw is Ecuador's.
