Scamacca just seems to smash every shot. No precision at all. His confidence is shot to pieces and tonight won't help. Good cameo by Ekwah I thought.

He’ll get one for the Napoli scouts on Saturday.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 8:48 pm Looks like a striker with very low confidence. He needs a goal more than anyone else in the team.

Kehrer's not playing, it was Levi Laing.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 8:37 pm Penalty after Kehrer brings their player down in the area
Apologies if there's a joke that's gone straight over my head!

Scamacca has already given us some cracking finishes in Europe and the League. He's just saving himself for the proper games. Showed some nice touches and passing tonight but he didn't look like he was going all out to me at all.

I'm sure Scamacca will come good eventually.
Great to hear Benrahma continuing where he left off.
Anyone pick up any injuries?

Saw a bit of it. Some good stuff. Ekwah and Potts seemed good.
Benny had a blinder, Bowen looked fairly sharp. I thought Scamacca looked good enough. A bit unlucky.

Could have done without that. Hopefully just a precautionary thing, rather than anything more serious.

On the positive side, the U21 lads looked good against league 1 opposition.
Ob the negative, the Premier league players, especially the forwards, were kinda pants...
Swings & roundabouts...

Cornet had a “small reaction” to his injury. Apparently nothing too serious. That’s why he wasn’t involved today. Massive waste of money so far.

Ekwah, and probably Swyer too, has a future as footballers. Antonio? Not so much longer…
I’d actually give Ekwah a game against Brentford.

Ekwah, that kid has exceptional passing, movement and vision. He can play short passes within inches of opponents. Turning and tapping it to Potts or Benny with ease, not even having to look. That's a clever football player with good technique. Exactly the type of players we're screaming out for.
Emerson offers so much more than Cresswell (Cress been good lately but its rather 1 dimensional). After a run of games and he gets rolling, we'll be a better football team because of him. Check the 17th minute where he rushed and tried hard to keep the triangles going all the way into attack. Cresswell doesn't do that.
Scamacca, looked really good, some top touches and passing. His two runs in front of Benny and Ekwah that opened them up to shoot and get their goals were very good striker work. He got a bit unlucky with his finishing, a few bad finishes too. Can tell he needs more game time and some goals to bring that confidence back.
Benny. Starting to look like who we thought we were buying. Cracking goal.
But I'd like to bring up the point in the match that stood out the most. 57 minutes in. Cambridge has a corner. In a friendly. We are winning. We have mostly 1st team on. ELEVEN MEN in the box defending it... 11 men, defending a corner, vs Cambridge, in a friendly. Not final minutes of a European cup final, but a friendly, vs a team in I don't know what league anymore...
Im done with this management. You can tell the kids haven't been coached much by senior team, they can still pass and move through the middle rather than auto hit it wide for crosses. Kid's looked great.

Nice to get back going again. Shame about the Cress and Cornet situations, would much rather that left side than the one it appears we'll have.

Did any of the Coaches give an update after the game on our current injury situation, notably Cresswell and Cornet? What with Aguerd going off injured today as well, I'm fearing we're racking up the injuries again.

Yeah, Cornet, Soucek and Cresswell just precautionary according to Warburton.Colours never run wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 10:38 pm Did any of the Coaches give an update after the game on our current injury situation, notably Cresswell and Cornet?
