Souness will blame Pogba for the earth being flat, after the break.

Extremely bizarre 'punditry' yet again from Souness. They must've gone to that ''down the goal line'' camera angle view 3 times, which showed it clearly hovering over the line, yet Neville gives it a tiny mention and the others don't say anything. Extremely odd.hammer1975 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:09 pm What the **** are itv going on about. You can see that the ball didn’t go out - they’ve already seen conclusive view. Their expert then says that it would only be ruled out if there was conclusive proof it was out - which they can’t provide as it wasn’t ruled out.
I’m at a loss at all their face pulling and berating of the situation.

Not sure it's that conscious.
Just sounds like old men not understanding something that's clear to everyone else.
Reminiscent of Jonathan Pearce not being able to understand the concept of time back in 2014:
EDIT: filmed on a potato that one apparently.

Agree mate….bonkers. Not only does the picture prove it was in (imo) but their expert has also said that unless they have conclusive proof it was out from a camera angle then they stick with the on field decision. They’re asking FIFA to give conclusive proof of it being in when the law of the game says itself that you only need conclusive proof that it’s out given the on field decision.Morocco Mole wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:10 pm What are ITV wanging on about? Making a controversy out of nothing. The pictures they are showing clearly show the ball didn’t go completely out.
I’m increasingly convinced Souness is going senile. Genuinely.
It’s like debating evidence that god exists….

Yes it was. Look carefully, thar ball is comfortably 2 cm's over the line, however, it has meant the Round of 16 has resulted in some cracking matches and the theatre of penalty shootouts to followhammer1975 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:01 pm That’s not out. Especially when you consider the angle of the camera to the ball (level with the line would make the ball look less out)

The whole ball isn’t out mate. Especially given the angle the photo was taken from relative to the line.Puff Daddy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:17 pm Yes it was. Agree with you regarding the round of 16 though.

Yes it was. Blow that picture up and you will see it was 2 , cm's over. There was green grass between the ball and the goal linehammer1975 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:19 pm The whole ball isn’t out mate. Especially given the angle the photo was taken from relative to the line.

Some of these pundits need to go back to my kids football coaches who would scream incessantly at me and my team mates - ‘whole ball wasn’t out’, ‘ play to the whistle’ and ‘stop being so **** lad’.

Lalas brings up a good point. The lino put their flag up on the second goal, which means he was either calling offside or ball out, If VAR overturned the call tghen they need to show the angle they used. If VAR said it was inconclusive then the goal shouldn't stand because the lino called it off and the ref didn't overrule the lino.

Mentioned it in the other match thread, but what a mad situation that was at the end - Germany, by winning, ensured that Spain qualified, while Spain losing meant that Germany got knocked out! It's like some sort of paradox.

How exactly do you attach images to this forum these days? Links don't seem to work at all
