How the f*** do we keep leaving players completely unmarked? No one within 15 yards.

Ream/Zimmerman/Robinson. They couldn’t sort out who was marking who. Robinson seemed to be marking Gakpo, the centre backs didn’t seem to be marking anyone, which left Dumfries completely free.

Honestly, Ream and Zimmerman are horrific. It’s poor that we (England) didn’t get at them enough.

Both full back positions vacant. Bummer. Was hoping for extra time.

That was Robinson’s man. He’s exhausted and maybe he’s taking a chance to get the break on the counter but the Dutch are too good to leave open like that. This isn’t Honduras they’re playing.

Better side is winning. US have 4 years to try and find some defenders and a striker. Some good players in the squad. Good base to build on.

Their team have some good players. We’ve beat them lots of times, we’ve just only played them 3 times competitively.

It was merely a joke based on the average flag ****ing yank. They put that thing on absolutely everything. You don’t need to take it personally.

Still, it wouldn’t be good for the world cup to have a team win it that doesn’t even consider football to be in it’s top 3 sports IMO.

Probably get pelters for this but Musah could be a potential Rice replacement when time inevitably comes Not the same quality yet but like the look of him a lot.

It was. However, he was marking someone that the centre backs failed to pick up. Horrendous all round really.

Well, at least the US has a decent chance of retaining the World Series again.

I didn't take offence at anything wot you wrote!

You last point is why I don't regard the US as 'proper' football cos they are famously Baseball and Gridiron, like Aus are cricket & rugby. Not real notions cos they both produce very decent sides.
I think baseball is also king in Japan and S.Korea.

Yea don’t get me wrong, nations can be good at multiple sports and consider them all important, like us with football, rugby union and cricket. It just doesn’t really seem important to them though. Most of them don’t even seem to have a passing interest.

We could if we wanted to but there’s some level of American “arrogance” will always make it difficult for us to hire and retain good managers.

Much of the US soccer community seemingly still thinks any manager needs to be flag-waving and talking like we should be able to just go all out and attack everyone. Immediately impatient with any manager who sets teams up to show respect to (usually superior) opposition in games, and immediately impatient if we are not easily winning every game against concacaf opposition (which is never as easy as expected).

Agree, a bit like Liverpool and India (cricket) there is no situation I can think off that I'd want Australia to win at any sport.

Sorry American Hammers, I'm delighted the Dutch won that one.
Not because I particularly like the Dutch team but because I love Louis Van Gaal. He's so grumpy, he's hallarious & if you haven't watched the documentary
"Van Gaal" on Amazon Prime, it's well worth your time.
I'd love him to be our manager...
