I'll admit it, I'm nervous.

No prediction possible as we have never played them (according to 'Head to Head 11'). Hoping for an exciting match. Come on England!

Re: Match #52 - Round of 16 England v Senegal
There was a really good article in yesterday's 'Sun' written by Troy Deaney, about Ismaela Sarr, his former teammate, at Watford. He believes he poses the biggest threat to our progress to the Quarter finals. The last occasion Harry McGuire and Luke Shaw faced him, Shaw was handed his ****hole and McGuire was given a torrid time, worried about Sarr sprinting in behind him. He states, we got away with this in the Group stage as , none of those teams could threaten us in behind, but this will change today and that this will be our first real test. He thinks we will dominate the ball, but will face a real test and stretched on the counter and that Sarr's motivation to win will be through the roo

Foden down the left, Rashford down the right, Bellingham in the middle behind Kane.
Rice and either Henderson (experience) or Philips (energy) sitting.
Walker right back, Stones and Maguire central, Shaw left back.
Pickford in goal.
With the options of Grealish and Saka from the bench to go at tired defenders after 60-70 mins, plus one of Henderson or Philips to shore things up if it's tight, I think we stroll to a comfortable 3-0 win.

Re: Match #52 - Round of 16 England v Senegal
I’m slightly nervous as I’m scarred by previous England upsets. However, unlike North African teams, the rest of Africa seems unable to sit back and frustrate opponents, they always want to go and attack/score. I think this is a major bonus for England, we know we hate trying to break down solid lines of defence which leads us susceptible to the counter goal. There will be a lot of opportunities for England to score, I’m certain of it.
Even if Senegal set up to try and frustrate England, I don’t think they’ll be able to stick to it for long. They will want to get the ball and try to attack. Their want to play attacking football will result in England scoring at least 2 goals, in my hopeful opinion.

Watching Holland dismantle the USA yesterday made me more convinced we won’t get past Senegal. USA made us look awful with a high tempo press backed up by a real desire to f*** the English
It will be very similar tonight, although they may not have the hatred for the English that other nations may have, they’ll have something inside each player that the English simply don’t have. Heart for the badge.
0-2 and a couple of Maguire f*** ups for me

Troy Deaney is right. We will have most of the ball, but Senegal , will be lethal on the counter and Ismaela Sarr gave Luke Shaw his ****hole the last time they met.

Van Gaal will have benefitted massively from seeing how the USA set up against us. Dont read too much into it.
As to this game, Id go:
——————- Pickford —————
Trippier Stones Maguire Shaw
——-——- Rice Hendo—————
—————— Bellingham ————
Rashford — Kane — Foden
That leaves Saka, Mount, Sterling and Grealish as options for impact subs.

Kelly Somers saying Saka starting over Rashford.
Foden ahead of Sterling thankfully though.

Sterling out of squad due to 'family matter'.

Confidence has gone for a Burton, and I’m back into full-on West Ham style pre-match dread.

I don’t think it matters the French are a class above and will comfortably beat either team.
