He's always motioning for the ball to feet too. Such a shame because his first touch and shooting are good if he's picked out.

Soucek busting a gut to win everything, as usual. He may not be the most naturally talented player we have but all I really ask from West Ham players is that they give everything and I can't think of a single member of our current squad that has done that more than big Tom the last few seasons.

Qucik free kick from Scamacca out to the wide right, Bowen swings in a cross that the keeper should take. But he spills it and Benny pounces for the equaliser.

We were a shambles for the first twenty but definitely improved after that. Some nice stuff from Benrahma and Fornals going forward. Emerson has looked good marauding forward but leaves massive gaps behind him.

Scamacca needs a goal.

I didn't catch the start but WHU have been pretty much in total control for the 30-odd minutes I've seen.

No idea if this is full strength Udinese but we should have had 2 or 3 by now, and certainly a penalty. What I don’t understand is why Downes never plays as a cdm, his natural position. Fornals looks better centrally.

Looked a bit suspect defensively at times, but after the 20 or so minutes we really grew into the game and I thought we had complete control.

That penalty would surely have been given our way had it been a league game, with VAR involved. But I am not too bothered as it’s just a friendly.

Emerson has been good going forward. Poor defensively. Benrahma has been Benrahma. But has had some good moments. Soucek ran his socks off. And Scamacca held the ball up well and shown good movement. Bowen in the Cambridge game and this game is starting to look his old self.

At least we know now who Benrahma’s secret Santa was.
