He doesn't care, he probably asked for the camera to follow him, now we'll get some nonsense released by his team that they'd have won if he had started.

Fantastic! Good to see Morocco battle through and defending like that.

And happy to see the back of a team who chuck themselves to the ground and roll around for no reason.

Don't know how the Moriccan missed that easy one on one with the Portuguese keeper near the end. I am a firm believer that international standard players should not miss one on one's or miss penalties either

Loved the players celebrating with their families.

We obviously want to beat France and beat them next. But they will be the most famous African team ever.

Great goalkeeper! That mofo was magnificent, just on fire. That boy can take a lot of pride, he and his defence showed so much desire and refused to surrender. When he was playing at Sevilla in October, and basically invisible to the rest of the footballing world, and his coach told him, 'Get on your boots', he could never have dreamed of such an elevation. Portugal couldn't even score one. Morocco caught them on the fly and it's them who will exit the tournament feeling numb, as though they've been in a war. Football can be so cruel. The defenders helped of course, sometimes you can't make it on your own. Made Ronaldo look like a right lemon too, proper bad. Come New Year's day, or maybe another day long afterwards, he'll look back on this match and think what a beautiful day it was. He'll certainly have a celebration and sleep like a baby tonight. If England do get knocked out tonight, I will follow him and his teammates all the way. If we can't win it, the sweetest thing would be to see Bono and his teammates stay the course. Everybody loves a winner!*

I'm no longer an Irons fan...Think I Wanted our Morrocan Bruvs to win more than us today, even without Nath..
Ball went out for a throw...50/50 and I shouted..Ours.

Brilliant performance,to lose up there with the 2 best centre halfs in tournament and still come thru, that's well deserved,
desperately sorry for Nath tho, hope so much he makes the Semi...against us. :D

Some additional perspective here: They appointed their manager in AUGUST, and almost their entire defense Is injured or has been injured at some point during this tournament. They’re fielding multiple players from the Moroccan league.

Yet despite this, they’ve been the most organized team defensively in the tournament and have yet to concede a (non-own) goal. Their run so far has been IMO more impressive than any other nation, beating Belgium, (a much better than their results) Canada, Portugal, and Spain, and tying a Croatian team that beat Brazil.

Whatever happens vs France, this has been a truly legendary run. They haven’t just become the first African team to make it to the semis, they’ve done it against all odds and in the most difficult manner possible, with maybe the hardest run of any team yet (also this is a far superior run to South Korea in 02, who had the benefit of extraordinarily suspect refereeing)

You must be mistaken, FM God, there's a post match quote from him bemoaning not getting a first-half penalty where he says, "I never fall." :crylol:

There have been some mind boggling complaints about the officials from the quarter finals, but the one about having refs from nations still competing is quite bizarre because it's really not unusual (although I do get the concern) - a Brazilian reffed us v France, an Argentinian reffed Portugal v Morocco, an Englishman reffed Brazil v Croatia
I thought a Spaniard reffing Argentina v Netherlands was a bit suspect, and I actually thought he was very lenient to the Argies who should have had more bookings and at least one red. After the match, Messi who spent most of the latter part of the game diving and lying on the ground to run down the clock (including in injury time) complained too much stoppage time was added

I think that match and all those cards might have had an effect on the refereeing of the matches that followed. Perhaps FIFA told the refs to rein the cards in a bit. Especially the Brazilian reffing England v France, 'cos he has a reputation for being card happy!

The most odd thing about the referees though - the only quarter final ref not complained about, Michael Oliver, has been sent home; whereas Wilton Sampaio kept out there, potentially with a role in the Final!

Semi finals refs are the Italian for Argentina v Croatia (isn't Italy culturally close to Argentina? And isn't Croatia a neighbouring rival?). He's already reffed Argentina once this WC - they won.
The Mexican has the other semi - having also already reffed one of the teams in victory (Morocco v Belgium).

Perhaps Collina really is trying to help Argentina to the trophy!
