I know it's not prefect but it's better than having no match thread and everyone wondering what to do.
I'm hoping it doesn't go to extra time as I'll miss the end although I'll happily miss it if we win.

Re: Match #60 - England v France
Same team as Senegal for me. 4-3-3 with Henderson, Saka and Foden in the side.
I think France have more chance of beating us in 90, but in 120 have the depth to take them. Sterling is thankfully back but he should be on the bench as he’s missed the majority of the week.
And I’m absolutely buzzing that our captain will be starting this game. Now the world will really see how good he is.

I was really looking forward to this game until extra time in the first QF yesterday when I realised how stressful a similar experience would be tonight.
And then I watched the penalties.
And the second QF

Re: Match #60 - England v France
So far in this WC my predictions have been not much short of useless but I’m going out on a limb with..
England 3 v France 1
I just think the way this tournament is shaping, it’s set for an England WC win. I said before that the winners tonight will win the cup and I stand by that.
However, the one caveat is that Southgate needs to start on the front foot, none of this cagey 20 passes in central defence nonsense as France will pounce on that with Mbappe and Dembele. Strike first and France can then be caught on the counter…

Re: Match #60 - England v France
I've been trying not to think about it, but I have hardly thought about anything else.
If England turn up and play as well as we know they can then we have a chance, but if the player are at all off their game or they are not set up right then it could be a mauling. This is a real test for Dec to see if the 'world class' tag is really justified.
My head says a France win, my heart says it's coming home.

I've just read Dec is a doubt! And he, Wilson, and Stirling haven't trained since before the Senegal match.
I'm hoping that's an old news story?

They have more to fear than we do, I wouldn't like to be a Frenchman*.

Re: Match #60 - England v France
I've had a good few people ask me how I feel about this game. Weirdly not as nervous as I thought I'd be.
If we lose, it's France... you can't expect a win. A win is certainly possible but it's about 45/55 in favour of them I'd say.
If we win, thats the boost we will need, we could actually win the thing (until Croatia beat us in the final)
I think if it was a team like Croatia/Morocco who are dangerous but are less prestigious, I'd be ****ting myself a lot more.

His funeral was a sombre, yet delicious, affair. Quickly fried in some good olive oil & finely sliced garlic & served with some linguini.

Didn't Rice post a photo of himself in training yesterday saying all the preparation was done?Crossd_Hammrs wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 11:13 am I've just read Dec is a doubt! And he, Wilson, and Stirling haven't trained since before the Senegal match.
