It isn't Easter so Jesus will unlikely rise again and they look a much meeker side without his movement upfront.

Cresswell had Foden in his pocket when we played Man City and I don't see any reason he cannot keep Saka quiet. Martinelli against whoever we play on the right bothers me more and we have to win the midfield battle.

I have a feeling it will be 1-1.

How are fans getting to this one if the trains aren’t running after full time? Fair play to everyone going.

Would be just like West Ham to get an unexpected result though. Spirit of Lerooy Rosenior scoring the clock end winner.

Easy home win by 3 or 4 goals.

It’s one of my only negatives towards Moyes, and I am one of his biggest supporters on here, but I just never believe we can go and win at any of the ‘Sky 6’ in the league anymore.

To be fair, our poor record against the Gooners in particular isn’t just a Moyes thing, as it’s been a case with a lot of his predecessors. But it just feels like one of the safest bets you can make in football is a David Moyes team not to win at any big 6 clubs. Arsenal can literally fill their entire starting 11 with their regular u21 team, we could play our strongest starting 11 possible and I still wouldn’t fancy us to win. And the problem is the longer your winless run continues against any team, let alone a big 6 team, the more the belief drifts from the players.

Now I don’t expect to beat a top 6 team every single season. I’m not that unreasonable. But when you see the good teams we’ve had the last 2 seasons especially and you see managers, let alone teams a lot worse than Moyes and our team respectively beating the sky 6 clubs on a more regular basis than we do, than questions need to be asked. When you have a record for as long as Moyes has to never beat the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal etc.when you consider the good teams he’s had at his disposal here, at Everton and even Man Utd, you must be doing something wrong, as surely no one is that unlucky.

I expect another predictable defeat at the Emirates. We’ll huff and puff and fall to another 2-0 defeat. We’ll probably have our token dodgy refereeing decision against us too, which happens whenever we play this mob.

Merry Christmas, everyone! :D

On the bright side, I think we’ll start to pick up from the Leeds game.

We'll play well, deserve to draw or even win, and lose to an either last minute or dodgy goal.

Just like every time we play Arsenal.

We will huff and Puff but still lose and probably be in the bottom 3 but the usual suspects will still be banging on about how Moyes just needs more time. Headbanger

If we lose this, Funky, you need to hand over the match thread reigns.

If the next person who starts a match thread puts us on a winning run, I certainly won’t be complaining! :newthumb:

Arsenal 3-0.

I know what team Moyes will choose, and how we'll play. Only way we get anything is if he's changed his system and has the team press fast and hard, force mistakes and our flair players do something to make a difference (Paqueta, Benny, Bowen).

I'd go with:

------------------Fabianski------------------
Johnson---Aguerd--(a fit CB)---Emerson
-------------------Kehrer-------------------
-------------Rice----------Paqueta---------
Bowen---------Scamacca-----------Benny

Bowen to ST if Scamacca is out. Fornals to RW. Press fast and hard. Kehrer just sit, ping nice passes around, let Rice and Paqueta have fun.

Guess Rice and Kehrer will be back.
"Most" WC players are due back on 23rd Dec apparently - guess thats the guys that were on the squads this weekend. Hopefully Paqueta can drop straight in if he is back early this week.
But I'll be surprised if Aguerd is ready - just can't take any risks at all with him imo. Morroco far more comfortable with risks.

Might see this team I think:

‐-------------------Fab
Coufal--Daws---Kehrer---Emerson
-------------------Rice
------Soucek---------Paqueta
-Fornals--------------------------Benrahma
-----------------Bowen

I hope he doesn't leave out Benrahma to bring Johnson into a back 5 which I could see happening.
