⚽ West Ham Utd 0-2 Brentford (30/12/22)
Friday 30th December at 19:45
West Ham host Brentford on Friday with the teams meeting for the 51st time in their history.
Brentford currently sit in 10th place and, like West Ham, have only won 4 games all season. The difference is they've drawn 8 giving 6 more points than us. That's the highest in the league.
They did the double over us last season. Prior to that we last played them in the 92/93 season and before that was in 1954, meaning we've only beaten then once in the last sixty nine years
Their top scorer is Ivan Toney with 12 goals which is only one less than our total in the Premier League. In their last game before the WC they beat Citeh away 2-1 & just today raced into a 2 nil lead against Spurs before drawing 2-2.
Apparently there's a chance that Scamacca & Aguerd will be back for this game which will be a huge boost.
I'm going with a 2-2 draw.

A must win game for us - things are looking bleak, and regardless of your opinion on his performance this season, I think the majority of us really want him to turn this around.
Myself especially.

Re: West Ham v Brentford: Match Thread
Well, I didn’t start the match thread, so we are already off to a good start!
In all seriousness though, I can’t see us getting anything out of this game. Brentford are no mugs.
Are the likes of Zouma, Aguerd, Scamacca, likely to be available for this?

Looking at the Premier League Injury List, Zouma is out til February & the other two are due back for this game.funky chicken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:33 am Well, I didn’t start the match thread, so we are already off to a good start!

Think we will win comfortably. 2-0 or 3-0. A morale booster heading into 2023.

I would absolutely love that to happen... I just can't see it though.Ironing Board wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 7:06 am Think we will win comfortably. 2-0 or 3-0. A morale booster heading into 2023.

I’m weirdly really excited about Friday now, something to play for and a lot riding on the result.

Can't see us getting anything from this game.
Brentford were unlucky against Spurs and Spurs are a far better team than us at the moment.
Our lack of pace will again undo us in this one

Re: West Ham v Brentford: Match Thread
This is football's equivalent of Custer's last stand and it shouldn't even have even allowed to get this far and by the way, the we play, we have no chance of beating this Brentford team, not the way they playCarltonColesLeftFoot wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:29 am A must win game for us - things are looking bleak, and regardless of your opinion on his performance this season, I think the majority of us really want him to turn this around.

Re: West Ham v Brentford: Match Thread
Moyes runs out of road, I think.
Our defence , and I include our "world class" DM in that, has been rotting for over a year and we have made a complete pigs ear of sorting it out, spending on vanity attackers as always.

Re: West Ham v Brentford: Match Thread
I see another morale sapping defeat.1-2.
And still Moyes won't be gone.
GSBK will only pull the trigger when relegation becomes a reality, which will then, of course, be too late.
