Leach on 0 from 18 balls. Would love his frist run to be the winning run.

Is there a 3rd test?

Went to bed at 80-5 and it seemed a forgone conclusion that we would lose. Gutted to wake up and see just how close we came to another victory.
No disgrace in losing a Test Match in that manner and long may this Devil May Care approach continue, England are changing the landscape of Test cricket.

If you're going to lost a test match, then I can't think of anyone better than NZ. They also try to play the game similar to us and we've had them under the pump in recent years, so fair play to them for hanging in there and getting a result.

Shame there isn't a decider.

This.
Given the overs lost, 'old' England would have batted that to a position where NZ couldn't win and it would have ended up a bore draw. Instead, we got one of the great test matches..... Ashes tickets are going to be like gold dust..

Didn't manage to get any Ashes tickets but have got one for the World Test final thing at Oval in June. No idea who might play though....anyone know who's in the mix??

Well played NZ. How was that penultimate ball not called as a wide though? Hmm.

Massively entertaining and a bit of a wake up call to England getting beat after enforcing a follow on.

In the NZ first innings, Broad "misfielded" when the ball leapt off the pitch off a divot, thought at the time hope we don't lose by a run and lo and behold.

Stokes needs to make a decision on his knee and also hope Crawley learns to use his feet before the Ashes.

Went to bed just after Root's schoolboy run out of Brook. What happened to it being the non strikers call Joe behind the wicket?

Anyway, obviously an incredible game, great for test cricket, and because it's NZ I don't care as we all love them as a side.

But if we did that in an Ashes series then I would be streaming. Leading in a series, not batting the oppo out the game and securing the series win? Yes entertainment is lovely, but you can bet Oz won't care about that, they will win by any means and be damned.

I hope we are not so charitable this summer.

I did too, woke up and checked score to see 7 needed with 9 down, fired up a stream and saw the ending.

I still cannot shake the silliness of what I saw, Robinson threw his wicket way as did Duckett, Pope was too reckless at the time.. and the run out well.. I get it is all fun and wonderful but a small amount of restraint (which I'd imagine is what Root showed - not seen it) and we would have won that.
