Is it racist, not if you look at it from the annoyance point of view, or you could look at it that he doesn't like foreigners, but it's the possible undertone of the tweet(s) accompanied with the testimony that hurts him.
It is only racist if people desperately want to make it so. If I phone an UK company and get put through to an overseas call centre it doesn't make me a racist if I get annoyed at communication issues.

If that level of comment can be brought into evidence as racist then society will never progress.

I'd even argue the term "you lot" is only racist if you say it in a mean or negative way. It is quite feasible that 4 asian guys would choose to hang out together in a dressing room. I remember people like Tony Adams pulling up the French players for not mixing with the Arsenal team enough.

If he'd said "you lot need to come out for a drink with us" is that racist?

That is not discounting some of the stuff Rafiq had to put up with, but there are is also extreme levels being applied here in order for cricket to save face imho.

Agree with some of what you say, and of course some will desperately want to make it racist, world we live in. But then people can be racist as well without having to desperately trying to find them racist.

One of his other tweets, something along the lines "not many English people in London, will need to learn a new language" these were 10 or so years ago, but come on Bendy, along with the testimony how are people outside of cricket and some inside meant to view it? Hasn't done himself any favours has he. even if he wasn't being racist in these tweets, it's the "possible" undertone accompanied with the case.

Well the danger of social media are very apparent, and certainly as a public figure I'd be really careful about what thoughts I'd put up.

But again, if you are from Yorkshire and you come to London, it's probably reasonable that you would be shocked by the amount of foreign language and culture you see.

Of course the inference is that English is meant to be white. I seriously doubt he was thinking that, do you? It just shows the dangers of posting clumsy words on social media.

No I don't believe he was, not from the many interviews I have seen of him. Clumsy, at least clumsy on tweets, and I am being generous as I have seen a lot of him on my TV.

Someone I don't know as well from my TV I would be thinking more dodgy, than clumsy - and that's his problem, maybe deservedly so for all I really know from my TV screen.

It's not a good look all round for cricket though is it. Even the victim/accuser has clumsy/dodgy tweets to his name.

Vaughan made it sound like he'd never stepped put of his Yorkshire village until 2010.

What's clear from everything is that there is a pretty toxic culture at Yorkshire CCC and there has been for plenty of years. I would suggest that Vaughan is as much a victim of that as he is a perpetrator. But as a senior member of the team, he had an opportunity to change it. He chose not to and to perpetuate what had gone on for years.

As a Yorkshire cricket fan, I'm thoroughly embarrassed by all of it. But sadly not surprised.

This is what happens when you let key players go to the franchise leagues.

Roy hit 145 in the PSL only a few days ago didn’t he.

Turn and bounce, two good stumpings... a bit embarrassing this, we've gone in half arsed and been shown up.

We'll need to bowl extremely well or another heavy loss is in order.

Archer has other ideas... only one ball left though.. wish he had another over we might get out of jail here.

Spinners have been disappointing expected more from them after what the Bangladeshis did.

Got what we deserved, disrespected Bangladesh and got a beating for it.

19th over from Jordan was utter crap.. terrible after Archer's efforts.

Fully appreciate this is my view and my view alone…and T20 is v popular.

But this is waaaaay down on my personal list of things to be bothered about. We’ve just won the WC…I was just about bothered by that. No one will remember this set of games in a few weeks…

Don’t even get me started on that ridiculous hundred thing
