Re: ⚽ Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham Utd: match thread
Microcosm of our season.
Look at some of the positions we get in during that game. They don’t come out as chances, but they absolutely should. So many wrong passes, bad choices, sloppy touches or brainless decisions.
I’ve criticised the move to just throw a striker on, but if Benrahma squares an easy pass to Antonio after Scamacca has won the ball off a wolves defender on the touchline, we probably score.
I’d say definitely considering the position, but it does feel like we conspire to just shaft these chances anyway.

Its the coaching.
What you're coached on all week is what you deliver in games as it creates and reinforces habits, so you don't need to think.
We are coached terribly. Clearly no one touch passing in tight spaces gets coached. In fact I imagine he cones off the middle of the pitch and tells us to keep the ball wide as there's less risk of a possession loss leading to us conceding chances if we lose it on the wing.

Haller scored 5 goals in his first 7 games so adapted really quickly compared to Scamacca as he was part of a team and tactics which did suit him when Yarmo and Anderson were still playing well.I don't think that he was mismanaged by Pelle but became part of a general malaise during the long period we suffered without Fabs from the end of September 2019.Our current system doesn't suit Scamacca.
Clearly a very decent play judging from spells in Germany and Holland. But we didn't see it in two years with two managers.

I said this on the match thread and was accused of being a "Benrahma hater."

Pretty obvious, isn't it? Just need vision and - ahem - the right ball.

and Antonio not falling over his own feet, hitting row Z or slicing it out for a throw-in.

Still photos never show the full story as they don't show which way players are moving and the speed they are moving at
It might look like in the photo it is the easiest thing in the world to pass to Antonio but he might be running full pelt in the same direction to the defender who is already stepping into the possible path of the ball

It's because Antonio demonstrates time and time again, he can't control a fart let alone a football.
Re: ⚽ Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham Utd: match thread
This drove me insane, and didn’t he sort of slip when he intercepted the ball?. Not sure if it’s me but Bowen seems to always be slipping, gets right on my ****ing nerves.

Re: ⚽ Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham Utd: match thread
I’m not taking sides with regards to “Benrahma should’ve found Antonio”, or “Antonio probably would’ve hit the moon anyway.” The point is it was poor all around. And it’s poor decision making like this and a real lack of quality as to why we are where we are.
If Benrahma squares it to Antonio and he slots the ball away, the final score is 1-1 and it’s 1 point instead of 0.
