RIP. Always preferred 'old school' curves to the skinny 60's and 90's.

Hard to believe that just 4 years ago at the age of 90, she was performing on the Italian version of Strictly

Gina Lollobrigida
Died today aged 95. Believe it or not she was my first crush (other than a really tall Nigerian Irish bird at school).
Apparently they would show her films in the afternoon back in the early 70s & I was always glued to the telly when she was on.

RIP David Crosby
Another big one for me. Not sure CSNY was as revered on your side of the pond as they were over here, especially for some of us of a certain vintage. Anyhow, I love his music, and in more recent years have met him a few times. RIP David.

Re: Today's celebrity death is...
I like his recent studio albums. They’re undeniably grandad rock, but I fall in that demographic so I like them. He has just released a live album from his last tour, which I was fortunate to have seen.

Re: RIP David Crosby
Oh, they definitely were, Pete. Early 70's huge over here,. many of us were listening to S Stills before they got together, and were mystified (at first) when they teamed up with some bloke from the Hollies! Either way, the eponymous album will always be a classic.

Sylvia Syms (1934 - 2023)
Actress Sylvia Syms passes away, at the grand old age of 89. A splendid innings indeed, and a mighty fine actress.
I shall be watching Ice Cold In Alex yet again tonight...but with more of a sense of loss than perhaps before.
Rest peacefully Sylvia.

Re: RIP Tom Verlaine
Oh no. Oh no.
Such an innovative player, difficult to imagine what indie and modern rock would sound like without his influence.
RIP maestro, you will be missed but your genius is always with us.

Re: RIP Tom Verlaine
Beck, Crosby and now Verlaine. What a terrible start to the year. Marquee Moon is probably one of my desert island albums. RIP Tom and thank you for the music.
