I could definitely see that. A good season finale could be the theatre, around 2/3 of the way through.

Ep.6
It's going to be a looooong week till 7...
This is a reminder of the greatness of the series format, where you have to wait, think, imagine, even talk to your mates about it...

Great episode. No CGI just people and a story. The young girl is such a good actress.

Late to the party with this. Watched all of the available episodes so far. Enjoying it, and hoping it doesn't go to **** like the Walking Dead did.

Re: The Last of Us
I'm behind one episode. Just finished # 5. This series reminds me of Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Just plain brutal. That opening sequence felt like it could be happening right now in the darkest corners of humanity around the world. Actually, it all feels uncomfortably plausible minus the fungus heads.
It has been excellent series so far, especially in rapidly developing character depth. I guess the rule of this show is don't get too attached. When you compare the writing on this show to some of the other big budget series that have launched in the last year.... some of these show makers need to step up their game. Not this lot though. This is good stuff.

Re: The Last of Us
I’m enjoying it to a point and will certainly stick with it but apart from episode three, I’m not seeing anything particularly special or groundbreaking.
Maybe I’m just suffering from Walking Dead fatigue.

It's in the "good, but not great" category.
It feels like TWD spinoff. That's by no means a criticism.

Same. I might have left it with 2 seasons left. Annoying, as invested so much time in it. Just went on far too long.

Thought episode 6 was a bit 'meh'.
I like Bella Ramsey, but i can't get away from her the main character in The Worst Witch!

2nd from last series of TWD was excellent and imvho not back to the best, but still very good.Cockneyboy311 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:47 pm Same. I might have left it with 2 seasons left. Annoying, as invested so much time in it. Just went on far too long.
last one again was pretty good but toward the end, I feel they needed to give us a "good" ending and leave it at that.
I stuck with it having like so many of us/you invested so much time in it. there of course were a couple of duff episodes, but in general I think it returned (almost) to the show that it was and I think I posted as much at that time........

Re: The Last of Us
Interesting. I guess I’m comparing this show to other big budget shows that have come out in the last couple of years. I’ve not seen TWD series so have no reference point. Tbh, I’m not a zombie genre fan. I am a fan of Pedro Pascal’s, so I thought I’d give it a go. So far, this is more a human species during an apocalypse study than a zombie show. There aren’t very many zombies so far. I know, I know, they’re not zombies they’re infected. But yes they are.

Re: The Last of Us
Finally caught episode 6. All I can really do is echo Ozza and Smuts - brilliant acting from the two leads.
