Ridiculous rally, Murray just chases everything and never gives up and as the commentator said, Murray’s entire career encapsulated in that rally. Outrageous

Re: Tennis 2023
Just starting the 3rd set decider when I had an appointment at the GPs . Bumped into a mate I'd not seen for a while when I got out. Spent an hour or so with him. Then had to drive over to my eldests .Then thought I'd check the phone to see how far Murray had got only to find him serving for the match  I couldn't bear to follow it so looked back about 10 mins later.
I'd love him to win another slam but as already said, it's very unlikely but either way, he's a truly remarkable individual.

Note to Murray....
When you're losing and deep in the doo doo...
Text OFT and send him off to the Doctors. The ailment is not important...just make one up.....

Re: Tennis 2023
Andy up against it already.
6-1 loss in first set and 3-1 down in second.
Crowd are doing their best to rally Andy by cheering every point he wins. It’s going to take a super human effort but then we knew that. As I’m typing Murray just holds for 2-3

Well well, 6-5 now to Andy in second set
Edit: Wow, great tie break
1 set all, you can’t keep a good man down

I've just watched the second set. The problem with tennis is you can lose half a day when you get invested in it!

Re: Tennis 2023
Murray is just unbelievable
He is playing his heart out with every point and after every rally he just looks dead on his feet.
How he does it is phenomenal.
I didn’t think I could love him any more but ……

Take a bow Sir Andy
Running on pure adrenaline and on this occasion there wasn’t enough in the tank.
Bautista Agut played very very well and had to. He must have felt like he’d killed Bambi when the match point went his way. Great support for Andy In Melbourne and as he waved goodbye you wondered if he’d be back again next year.

Re: Tennis 2023
I genuinely went for a walk past the GPs at 1-2 down. :arry:
In the world of sport there's over used terms like Hero, Legend etc. Andy Murray is both of those and then some.
Those 5 set games and the scheduling have caught up with him .
I thought he should pack it in at Wimbledon but what do I know. I love the lad, he's a warrior and,it seems, a very good egg too.

Re: Tennis 2023
Back to back matches are obviously part of tennis, but having to end games at 4am and the impact that will have on your body clock and rest pattern seems totally unfair to me.
When you football managers moaning about 3 games in 7 days then it makes you understand how difficult the demands of tennis must be.

And then you get softie footballers cramping up after 90 minutes. Tennis players regularly play through the pain barrier when half of the time you want them to quit for their own good.

Re: Tennis 2023
Djokovic crushes Rublev to move into the semis .
Hope he wins a couple this year and moves out on his own as the player with the most GS. I think he's the best ever.
Especially after the Aussie COVID police shafted him last year.
I'd have told them to shove their GS up their arse this year personally.

He grand slam total will end up a few ahead of Nadal by the time he is finished. He could easily win another 10!

Smashes Paul in similar fashion . Tsitsipas in the final will be harder but difficult to see past Djokovic

Re: Tennis 2023
So boring seeing Novak smash another opponent. Straight sets easy win in the final I fear.

Re: Tennis 2023
Maybe I’m wrong but seems bit of void in tennis at the moment
With Federer retired, Nadal and Murray both suffering with injuries it leaves Novak still way ahead of virtually all of them
Even in the ladies with Serena not about & Osaka pregnant plus Barty retiring
It’s seems a bit meh at the moment
Yes it’s up for grabs for one or two to come through and take up the mantle but it might take a couple of years or more
I’ve found this Australian Open arguably most boring I’ve watched and of the slams in general
Plus I don’t think it helps that a lot of the players getting to the later stages are Russian, Belorussian, Russian by birth and just chosen another flag to play under & Serbian another country with sympathies towards Russia
Just not enjoying tennis at the moment

Shame. I am loving the variety of exciting new players in the women's game. Great to see a young Briton - Rayna Stoiber - reach the girls' semifinals too.

It would be unbelievable defence if was from 10 years ago from Murray, but that fact that its 35 year old Murray with a metal hip, I mean ****ing hell!

Re: Tennis 2023
And guess who has done it again. Made the Qatar final after saving 5 match points.

If he could actually win games without all this drama his body wouldn't be such a mess and he'd probably have a few more slams.
