Adrien Rabiot, Juventus CB, 28. Can’t see it, but what a replacement for Craig Dawson!

Jesse Lingard released from Forest, ha ha ha, 30 years old now
Ross Barkley released from Nice, 29, don’t do it Moyes
Chris Smalling released by Roma, can’t believe he’s 33!!

Coufal is also currently on the list and you’d assume he’s just negotiating a revised contract, which probably puts the others in context too. But some good discussion points!

Andrea Belotti - now there's a name we were linked with loads and who had many fans on this forum. Out of curiosity, I just looked up to see how he got on at Roma last season. He scored ZERO goals in 30 league games, and 4 goals in 45 apps in all comps.

I thought he was supposed to be a goalscorer

I know Youtube highlights reel blah blah blah, but this kid is 18 in those clips (he only turned 19 on Friday). I like him a lot, especially given his age. Seems like a no-brainer that someone is going to buy him and maybe loan him back to Blackburn for another season. Good spot H992

Signing him and then loaning him back to Blackburn for a season would be something I'd do. He's got bags of potential

Apparently, we're very keen on Chukwueze. At first, I thought this was that Chelsea bloke, they nabbed off Villa, but this bloke plays for the other Villa, Villareal. He's a bit like Bowen, only scores a few more goals. The report made no mention of a heavy first touch, though, which either means he doesn't have one, or if he does, they didn't think it worth mentioning

I agree. I would sign him without doubt but not for that money. £25m - £28m bearing in mind his wages. He would be come a cult figure here in no time.

No one is signing a 30 year old Maguire for £40m and I do rate him for a team at our level. I’d say given his age around £20m is about right, as I can’t imagine he has more than 3 years at his current level.

Personally, I think Bowen is a tad overrated, to be fair. We all think he's good, cos he plays for us, but his first touch isn't always the greatest and if we can make a few improvements in a few positions, that can only be a good thing, although, I do concede we have more important positions to fill before we get round to his

Both are centre forwards.

As I watch Gladbach regularly, I can tell you it's only this season Thuram has exclusively used as a centre forward. He's been used on the left wing regularly as well as at centre forward for other seasons. Quite often about 50:50 split in terms of appearances.

A very Antonio-esque permanent conversion this season. Paid off, too.

They’ve effectively lumped the £10m to buy out his wages onto his ‘true’ value.

Definitely wouldn’t take him at that price

Atleast cb seems to be a priority

Seems he has a €18m release clause in his contract that expires in early july

There aren't many sane, successful, solvent clubs in the PL who go round spending £40m fees on 30+ year old outfield players, let alone defenders.
