Re: Summer Rebuild 2: Electric Boogaloo
Vlasic is playing on the wing for Torino, also hasn't scored since before the World Cup. He was just a bad signing, and Moyes deserves the stick for that, he's only really succeeded in a weak Russian league.cadiz_hammer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:05 pm If we have a new manager next season why wouldn't he have a proper look at Vlasic playing in his proper position? Can't see the point in bombing him out for less that 25% of what we paid for him based on one season playing out of position under the previous manager...

He was ok in a poor Swansea side. Wasn’t anywhere near the team of the season, or in the top 10 championship CM’s last year.El brooko79 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:02 pm He has already proved himself in the Championship.
If we don't want him should just let the lad go and play premier league football for someone else.
I wouldn’t mind him going to a side battling promotion. He wouldn’t get in any premier league starting 11 imo

Still think it would be worth giving him a look-in under a new manager - worst case scenario if it doesn't work out (*again!) would be to bin him in January when teams are more desperate for a hail-Mary signing...Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:11 pm Vlasic is playing on the wing for Torino, also hasn't scored since before the World Cup. Disagree as i think he he should be given a chance with us.BobbyMooreLower wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:14 pm He was ok in a poor Swansea side. Wasn’t anywhere near the team of the season, or in the top 10 championship CM’s last year.

But that's a moot point, if you think he is not good enough at 24 then he should be sold. He isn't a kid that needs time to develop.

Some reports of our interest in Retegui. 2 in 2 for Italy, top scorer in Argentina last year and this.

We can’t use the other Italian striker we paid 35m for in the summer. Let me guess ‘they’re different players’Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 7:52 pm Some reports of our interest in Retegui. 2 in 2 for Italy, top scorer in Argentina last year and this.

Re: Summer Rebuild 2: Electric Boogaloo
A lot of the difficulty of this now is who the manager is and what league.
But if we stick with Moyes, I’m not even sure if we keep moving forward with this supposed transition of styles or revert back to what has worked.
If it’s going back, then Broja makes sense again. He won’t create, but he’d give us a better defender up there, more hard work and a player who looks more comfortable working alone up top.

Broja isn't big enough for Chelsea so he is obtainable but he's injured for months now.Wilko1304 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 2:14 am A lot of the difficulty of this now is who the manager is and what league.

You know full well we'll stick with Moyes too. So it will be Broja to us... Oh just googled it's his ACL...

No Italian striker, Argentine born and bred or not, is coming to West Ham at the moment.Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 7:52 pm Some reports of our interest in Retegui. 2 in 2 for Italy, top scorer in Argentina last year and this.
I reckon we’d need a new manager to give that a chance of happening.

Re: Summer Rebuild 2: Electric Boogaloo
That's depressing isn't it, a better defender up top.
Sad but likley true.
Thing with Broja is I'm not sure he is a focal point and can be used to build play and get us forward- like Antonio running the channels and an outlet.
Also I checked before and most of Brojas goals came when he was up top with Adams doing the donkey work.
Not sure at all as a lone striker.
He is young so that's not to say he can't, but again buying potential. So the £30m previous price tag seems expensive.
Also how long is he out for, needs game time before we can risk it surely?

Re: Summer Rebuild 2: Electric Boogaloo
Interesting that Scamacca doesn't start for Italy, would be even further down the pecking order if Rapsadori was fit, and has yet to score for Italy in his 11 appearances.Aztec Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 9:29 am No Italian striker, Argentine born and bred or not, is coming to West Ham at the moment.

2 in 2 for Retegui, 5 in 15 for Rapsadori, 0 in 11 for Scamacca.
He was never 'Italy's Number 9'.
What happens when we get a new manager and Scamacca still isn't producing? Who do we blame then?

Think we would need to be in Europe as plenty of other "also rans" would be interested at that price.

Ye probably, top player. Don’t think him and Paqueta would work in a two though, they’d need someone more disciplined alongside them.El brooko79 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 10:39 am Think we would need to be in Europe as plenty of other "also rans" would be interested at that price.
