Good call with the JAMC tune Juncs, there is something gloriously dirty about that bass line - it grabs you by the neck and drags you along!!

If we're talking being blown away by JAMC, I've got to chuck this into the mix:

I'd read their name on the day I got my wages at Sainsbury's, Brentwood High Street, week of release. Had £1.50 or whatever spare and slammed it down on the counter for this.

Got home and couldn't believe the racket had such a sweet undertone to it.

Rest of the family, especially that next tues of a step-dad I had absolutely hated it, which, of course, meant I played it even more.

Great band.

Back in 1969 age 15/16 I was already listening to a lot of stuff that my Dad suggested " would end up with me in the nuthouse" when I stumbled upon this beauty, quite possibly the 'heaviest' album I'd heard at that time with this one of the shorter offerings:-

Hadn’t really liked much of their earlier stuff and same with their later stuff but the first time I heard this track was one of those ‘wow’ moments

Early 2000s, we were in the Ship in Wardour St one night, and this came on and blew me away:

Next day was spent hunting the album down and now they're a band I have seen many a time in the 20+ years since

The song that on first hearing made me move away from my usual standard Rock music tastes to a more Alternative Rock/Indie flavour that has stayed with me since:

Love a bit of Nookie, a World Dance favourite. Think he did a set at the last Orange reunion.

This and Orange Crush... classic early REM tunes.

Been thinking about this thread for a couple of days.

Stan - Eminem, Street Spirit - Radiohead, Champagne Supernova - Oasis, Sittin on the dock of the bay - Otis Redding

I love 2-Pac SH, think I have all his songs on either CD, Vinyl, digital but he never really blew me away, Brendas got a baby was close, & my favourite football changing room song was Hit em up - that is one angry song! :D

I hear you mate, just something about Changes, that stops me in my tracks every time, probably more of an emotional reaction to his untimely passing more than the quality of the song I expect, but still, absolutely love it.
