If Auguerd and Antonio play regularly and get Ings fit,we'll get quite a few more points.Injuries will be a major say in what happens though.

Convert the points won in those games to how they would average out over a season and they show relegation form. I am afraid our malaise is much more than a 3 month slump. In my eyes it has been looking like a terminal decline in health for several months now.
Started to go downhill with Wolves away last season - think that was November. Across 90 minutes we barely had a shot on target.

I hear that... but we've struggled to get the basics right across the board this season. I don't think it's been dependent on who we've been playing, we've got it wrong consistently against anyone.

I think it's been more about us than them if that makes sense?

I think we will eventually stay up pretty comfortably.and finish somewhere around 12th-14th . Only doubt I have is the manager and his love of defensive football. He needs to take the shackles off our attackers.

I'm amazed by the optimism in most of these posts we are woeful and have been for getting on for 18 months. I cannot see us suddenly 'clicking' into a team. As I've said I'll be surprised if we make 30 points.

A nice relegation to clear out the crap and reset, we've done it before and we'll do it again. Seems very much needed right now.

I do hope I am just a miserable b*stard (in my defense I called this before a ball was even kicked this season and I'm sticking to it)

A tad ambitious perhaps but we are definitely beating Arsenal. We are long overdue 3 points against these and what better way than to derail their title surge.

50 points - top half

Come on wolfie....we've not been woeful since August 2021!

Our bad patch seems to get a month longer by the week, in some people's minds.

Maybe it does, started at Stockport on a cold rainy night for me... (or was it getting stuffed at Tranmere, or Bolton (often) , or losing to Crewe, Blackburn, Leeds, Oldham...) :crylol:

You know I've not actually seen us win very many times...might have something to do with it.

What I take comfort from is that West Ham usually wins a couple of games against the top sides, even when not playing well. So that is let's say four points.
Moyes can grind out at least four more draws. That is four more.
Our last three games are hopefully against teams who've not much to play for. so seven more points there.

Can we take five or six points from the remaining six games?

It's within reach. If our best line up remain injury free at the back. We need to shut up shop if we are to be able to pull this off. We are too weak going forward.

I truly believe he had a negative effect before he arrived. Before he was even considered as a manager.

He's the worst manager in the world ever and he's ruined my life.

From my own perception, we have looked stale since last January. We picked up wins but very much relied on points against the bottom 3. Similarly to how we're largely relying on weaker teams this season for points. Even with some of those, we scraped the points without looking particularly great. These are the matches we've won in that time period and the oppositions league position at the time.

2021/2022
Palace 11th
Norwich 20th
Watford 18th
Wolves 8th
Villa 9th
Everton 17th
Norwich 20th

2022/2023
Villa 15th
Wolves 17th
Fulham 9th
Bournemouth 13th
Everton 19th

Really, we need to get to that magic 38 points... in order to do that we need 6 wins and 2 draws in the last 18 games.

During the last 18 games last season - a season where many claim we were much better - we picked up 6 wins and 4 draws. We had more bottom 3 clubs to play against than we do now.

I think it's going to be very tight.

I agree that there is nothing to give optimism. No changes in style, no new personnel to add cohesion, new signings not fitting the system, continuous injury problems, no academy breakthroughs, key staff leaving, lack of inspiration, discontent. We do have effort, determination and talent (misfiring) but it seems our only hope apart from blind faith is that teams around us fail more than we do and that we win every '6 pointer'. If we get dumped out of Europe early, morale will only get worse

There is no point saying we will get better when there is no evidence (yet) let alone fact to support it.
